The Hunt For Goaltending Is On; Mon's Buzzcast

This summer, there will be a brisk market for goaltending and it could resemble a game of musical chairs, since there may not be enough quality netminders to go around. There are a number of clubs that may be looking for backups, but have a legitimate #1 in place...and some who are not ready to win, so they are not in a position to make a big move for a puck stopper.

Here is the list of teams that will be looking for a tandem starter or #1:

Atlantic:

Detroit (if they can find someone to take Ville Husso off their hands or choose to buy him out)

Ottawa (Korpisalo was disappointing in his first season, Forsberg has been below average the last two seasons, but the Sens team defense is terrible)

Toronto (Woll is a very good young goalie, but cannot stay healthy)

Metro:

New Jersey (Allen is a start, but they need another goalie unless they think Schmid or Daws is ready)

Washington (Kuemper became a $5+ million backup, can Lindgren repeat last season's success)

Central:

Utah (Vejmelka took a major step back and new ownership may be willing to spend money to address this glaring area of need)

Pacific:

Los Angeles (A team that has been undone by a lack of quality netminding the last couple of seasons and have only been willing to address it in a stop-gap fashion)
