The Columbus Blue Jackets have yet to sign center Cole Sillinger to a new contract extension in the midst of August.

Sillinger, 21, completes his three year entry level contract with the franchise and is set to make his first major contract.

The Columbus native had 74 points in 220 career games. The center iceman has yet to compete in a full NHL season. This season was his most successful, collecting 32 points in 77 games.

His 18 year old, he had the most games in his career. His rookie year, he had 31 points while wearing number 34.

His sophomore season was an absolute disaster, even on his own record. The usual sophomore slump devastated Sillinger’s development. The 19 year campaign provided 11 points in 64 games.

An average point per game rating of 0.33 points per game for the 21 year old is bottom six forward numbers in the NHL. A third line center.

Based on the recent contracts I see 3 years under $2M.
