If any of the Chicago Blackhawks are that fragile where a line change screws with their head then they should be shown the door.....it is an absolute ridiculous theory.

Q has always changed the lines, that is his MO......even in 2010 when they won the cup. The reason why he didn't do much of it this year was because of the streak. All the players know this and more or less expect it. This is nothing new to them so please stop with the theory it is screwing with their heads. He shook the lines up against Detroit and LA.....and they won both of those series. I see the short bus is getting full already and should be packed by game time......the wheels on the bus go round and round ....round and round.

Lets just clarify a few things.

1. Line juggling in response to struggle and failure is one thing. What many opine about and are perplexed by, is WHY do we juggle things without struggle?

As you pointed out, not much was done during the streak at all. And to me, that was cool. Not only was their some continuity, players were allowed to grow and mature with the opportunity to work through struggles. I see a lot of value in having your young guys work thru things as opposed to teaching them that when things get rough, we can shuffle stuff around. But that is me.

2. The preemptive moves by Q in advance of Detroit and now Boston are fair game for intelligent fans to analyze. One of Q's other MO's is not messing with a line up in a streak or when things are going well. He gets all the credit for the adjustments in Detroit, I for one, wonder how the team would have played if you left what worked all year in tact to start the series. I know we can never know. But what we do know, is that once he reverted back to the line up that played all year, things got back on track. The line adjustments were great and I credit him for that. There is a big difference, in my mind, between line ups and line adjustments.

3. Lastly, all I have wondered and hoped for is the Hawks putting their best foot forward and win or lose being who they are, as opposed to what many want them to be. They have proven that finishing checks and taking hits to make a play are not really that big a deal. If they do that they will be fine. Tonight we will see what the Kings and Wild saw line up wise. What we had rolling all year. Our strongest line up for our style of play.

The only thing that would make me happy is to load up Toews and Kane and challenge Charra and Seidenberg to stop them. Every other team in hockey does this and their players like it. That is when their coaches say go get em boys and win the battle. Only here do we treat Toews like a ken doll, whining about who he might be playing against. (not saying you)

Anyways, before you go overboard on grouping us all on some bus, maybe this will shed some light on why many think a certain way. I assure you it is not because we are all dumb.

Great points TG.....let me clarify.....the short bus is reserved for those in the "win in spite of" crowd in which Q...blech is a major contributor.

Eh, the Hawks are in like 3rd worse shape and they still have 10 mil more to play with than the Flyers, with a better team already constructed. I don't see how the rebuild on the fly.
- rollpards19

Boston and Hawks are both pretty good considering....The others NY, Philly will have to use buyouts...Others are locked in.

Road games help with match ups because Q and the players will not be focused on them because the Hawks have no control over them.

Put the lines out there and play like hell.

The message
Stay in the moment shift by shift

We need a split and I think we will get it.

Winning Cups is dam hard
1961-2010
We have an opportunity to win a second cup two years removed and Boston has a chance to win a second cup in three years.
Pretty exciting stuff for both teams and in the end who ever wants it the most will hoist the Cup.

No matter what happens it has been a great ride and hoping for a game 7!

You're right, Homer didn't have much choice, but that still doesn't make it a good signing. Stan can't make a deal like this right now because his team is still playing and I'll take that any day. But if Stan could have made a deal who do we get rid of on the current roster to make room for Streit. Keeping in mind that Stan will need some cap space in a couple years with Kane, Toews, Saad, Hjalmarsson and Shaw are up for new deals.

For Philly it's an OK deal give their particular situation, but I wouldn't expect Stan to make a similar move. We need a PP quarterback (**cough, Campbell, cough cough**) but I wouldn't go the rough Homer did.

Speaking of Campbell, during his last season with us our PP was at about 23%. The 2 years after that it was 15.2% and 16.6%.

- DarthKane

Look at Keith's shotting % the year Hawks won the Cup....Never has been close to 7% after that, yet he plays the most point mins.

When that changes the PP will get better. Less Keith and moe Leddy and others, but at times Q. doesn't change willingly.

ANY player can play tough.

You may be a size queen, but it's completely true that any guy can throw a hit and more importantly, play through getting hit. Examples: Frolik, Kruger. Bigger bodies make a bigger impact (duh), but at this point in the season, motivation and the will to win is much more of a factor than the "beef" you write about all season.

- AceRatbang

I don't get it. You reference 2 terrific defensive players who really don't do much other than to kill penalties. Boston pounded our defense and it wore them down and caused them to make mistakes......not real complicated......it's not about courage, it's about way bigger guys wearing down smaller guys.....it's what happens in the playoffs. Pound for pound, nobody hits harder than Shaw but a 175 lb guy isn't going to beat down Chara and Boychek.......but when we're skating, we're pretty tough to catch. We can out skate them and score 3

I've not been a big Q supporter, and even suggested his dismissal on several occasions, but even I can admit that Q deserves some props and probably a contract extension after making it to the Finals. No matter how maddening I may find many of his decisions, no matter how questionable his choice of assistants might be, no matter how irrational his doghouse seems to be...I can no longer argue with the results.

I agree, less Keith and more Leddy on the PP. But who plays with Leddy on the point? I don't think Sharp is the answer, maybe Seabrook?

How could would our PP have been if Stan had signed Jason Garrison? He's the exact type of shot we need.
