Vaguely off-topic but Hawks related: Jewel grocery stores in the Chicago area are giving customers 10% off their total bill when they wear a Hawks jersey on a game day during Finals. I had a Hawks t-shirt on today and they said that was also good.

I had to ask the kid cashier, they didn't just take it off the bill.

What does the point have to do - most important is getting shots on net, right?

Doesn't have to be a 100 MPH slap shot - a simpe wrist shot will do, jst as long as it can get to the net for a potential deflection or rebound.

I've not been a big Q supporter, and even suggested his dismissal on several occasions, but even I can admit that Q deserves some props and probably a contract extension after making it to the Finals. No matter how maddening I may find many of his decisions, no matter how questionable his choice of assistants might be, no matter how irrational his doghouse seems to be...I can no longer argue with the results.

Didn't a Forbes issue claim the Hawks were one of the most profitable teams recently, despite Rocky's claim otherwise?

If the Hawks are losing money you can be it's only on paper to help the other Wirtz businesses.

UPDATE: as of last November, Forbes claimed the Hawks were making a profit of $20.5 million per season.

1.) Yes, I personally believe it. (But could not care less considering the resources Wirtz has at his disposal.)

Yea, they've been saying it for a while. If they mean they're in the red from those years where they couldn't get people in the building and tickets were next to nothing, I might believe that. I don't believe for a second they're losing money yearly at this point.

FWIW, saw Rocky interviewed on Channel 5 news this afternoon...he claimed Hawks Ticket prices were 2nd lowest in the league when he took over. Said they've been raising them gradually to avoid sticker shock, and hinted that with next year's increase, they're almost in line with where they "should be".
