I'm heading there tonight. I never take full advantage of it. Its good ball, and very cheap, plus you can buy the cheap tickets and just move.

i have a feeling we will at least draft someone.. and with it being a #2 pick it should be a big deal..

and TM doesn't seem like the kind of GM that makes moves because the fans want it.. he makes moves that he thinks will make the team better

- IndianaSabresFan

Obviously there's excitement around the #2 pick, I don't disagree with that. I would prefer he stand pat and just draft using the picks we have.

Not looking for him to make a big move this year, I see that happening in 2015

That LA Deal with Gaborik is fantastic. 7 for 32 with No NMC/NTC. How did the GM pull that off.

I think with the way Murray has talked about getting back into the first round, he is almost required to at this point. He can't be as vocal as he has been about acquiring another first, and come up short.

I'd say it's 50/50 at this point. I know he really wants to but he probably doesn't want to overpay for it as well.

If a deal to move to 22+Scuderi's contract requires us to give up both 31 and 39 he may back away from that unless someone they really like is there.

Agreed.

On Gabby, maybe had that deal been done last night he would have won the GM of the year instead of the Ducks guy. As far as that deal, maybe its easier to get good deals done when you win the cup 2 of 3 years.

That'll make for an eventful night at the arena while I'm there then.

Honestly, I've gone to the Draft Party's they've had before and haven't been impressed. Instead of showing what's going on at the draft on the video board, they were showing interviews with Kevin Sylvester and Co. One year, we actually went, and then left before we even made our pick because we just couldn't take it anymore.

You can see the seating areas taking shape at Harbor Center in the upper arena.

I go to the AAA games here in Vegas. Especially on Thursdays, they do dollar beer nights. (No great beer, but still a nice night out. Baseball and some cheap suds.

Those have been there for about a month and a half now. They were already in place before they started putting the roof and walls up.

The Distillery has a great draft party. Great specials, you can hear the entire draft. Yeah, it's in Rochester. If you've got any friends out there it's totally worth it.

This.

Although, good God, I would hope every GM has that mindset.

I feel real good about our chances of coming away with a couple 1st rounders this draft.

As long as everything goes fine with my dog getting neutered on Friday, I'll be meeting some people out to watch the draft.

I just don't understand why they seemed to think that people would rather listen to Kevin Sylvester drone on more (don't we get tortured enough already?) than we would want to see what's actually happening at the draft itself.

Nothing beats the comfort of your couch, a couple cold beverages and TSN's coverage simulcast on NHLN and a dvr in case you have to pause for a bathroom break!

I would say how did his agent pull that off. The NMC could be big when he is 36 and slowing down. The deal takes him till he is 39 the low cap is good for LA but the term might hurt them down the road
