They're not paying Danault 6.8 million dollars my good friend, that's straight up insanity, 3 million dollar raise my ass!
Tatar will go from 4.8 to 5.5
Danault from 3.8 to 5.5
That's 2.4 million in raises.. Lehkonen's salary! - obie
You also have to plan ahead for KK and Suzuki’s raises...Romanov... you can’t be up against the cap at all times... |

Danault is making 3.8M? I thought he was making 3M.
so yes, let say 2..4M in raise for both, that's even easier to find.
replace Lek and Armia by Poehling and Caufield and there you go. - fidopro
Also 3 million raise to Gallagher, half a million more to Petry and a new Kotkaniemi deal... but 2 million extra in savings on the Alzner buyout, 1.5 less to Allen and Seattle will pick money off the roster |

I don’t think they want to bring Primeau up to be Price’s back-up yet... |

you can. you just have be willing to take a ball bat to someone's knees. or push em down the stairs.
when khabby was in his last year with the hawks and playing terrible. he "fell" down a flight of stairs and was never seen or heard from again. its like he got caught in a star trek time continumum. |

Or they can become allergic to their equipment after playing 10+ years in the NHL alone. |

By that time the Drouin and Byron deals will have expired along with Chiarot or Edmundson, whichever Seattle doesn't pick... also Allen will expire around that time too... as long as he doesn't hand out 8 million + deals, he'll be able to keep his depth |

They won't but Allen re-signed for 1.5 less than he's making this year |

nah. that poop was real. he was given days off for a few seasons because of the pain. not that anyone cares but he hung them up because of the meds and their long term effects on his health after having 2 small kids at home. |

Guy was a beauty... thought Ottawa got robbed from day 1 when they traded him, sure Heatley scored 50 a couple times for them but Hossa was the complete package |

I don't know. The cited reason was the allergy, I didn't see anything said about adverse reactions to medications. If he went his whole career with that allergy that's pretty damn impressive he put up elite numbers despite it. He certainly didn't develop an allergy in his 30s to something he was exposed to his whole life before that, the timing seemed very suspicious at best. |

He definitely was. Used to love when someone made him mad. guys would just bounce off him all over the ice. he backchecked like someone stole his mom's purse and called her a dirty, rotten whore at the same time.
so glad the bowmans stepped in and stopped tallon from re-signing havlat in favor of hoss. |

they've also advanced the liner in equipment too. Could be the chemicals they put in them to not absorb sweat |

nope. it was the meds. there were a quite a few stories locally when he retired. i think it started in his last 4 seasons or so when his equipment changed.
he wasn't the player he was when he was younger but he still 20-50 guy. yeah, the timing was always gonna be wonky. |

Fair enough, I just wonder why they couldn't revert the equipment material or alter it slightly if they knew the cause.
Though I guess it was med related anyway it wouldn't have stopped him from leaving. |

it was something along those line. he used to get quite a few maintenance days off his last 2-3 years. it was always a mystery. also would miss a game occasionally.
fwiw, the stories from his teammates that came out after would tell of him having welts on parts of his body. whether its true or not, who knows. |

havlat did play well for the hawks but no way he brings everything hoss did on the ice.
he was fun to watch just when he backchecking. |

Drouin contract expires in two years, Suzuki needs contract this off season and KK needs one the year after if I read it right , so timing doesn’t align |

Other way around with Suzuki and Kotkaniemi deals, KK is up after this season
And they're gonna get bridge deals |
