I don't see why Ottawa would trade their superstar and captain for spare parts and draft picks. It starts with Nemec and the 10th pick at a minimum, likely with Mercer and another piece as well.

Seems like McLellan is their backup plan if things totally fall apart. Sounds like if Keefe wants to jump right back into coaching and wants the job it's his(Pagnotta said yesterday he wouldn't be shocked if the contract was already drawn up and agreed to), but if he wants to take a year off then it'll seemingly be Woodcroft.

Keefe needs to hurry up and make his decision though so we don't lose out on Woodcroft while waiting.

He's a very good coach. I still prefer Woodcroft over him, but he's #2 well ahead of someone like McLellan or anybody else we've interviewed. Maybe we get lucky and get Keefe as head coach with Woodcroft joining his staff as an assistant. That's probably the best case scenario. I doubt Woodcroft would take an assistant role though lol, so that's not likely.

Brady, Necas Marner are all rumored. If Sens are willing to part ways, DO IT FITZ! Get your cousin on board!

Same, pretty positive outlook around the league all over twitter for it too. I do kinda feel bad for Woodcroft though, seemed like it was going to be his job until Keefe was let go then Fitz zoned in and made him the #1 target/priority. If he doesnt have another potential head coaching gig that he likes, i hope hes brought onto the staff here.

A couple of coaches were at the top and he was one of them. We shall see. Not his fault his top 2 scores combined to miss half the 2nd round.. while having inconsistent goaltending. He’s actually a good fit cuz that’s exactly what we have lol. Would love Woodcroft as the assistant.
