Once/if they trade for a goalie and get some defensemen healthy, yeah no doubt. IMO I'll think they'll leap the Flyers. |

They have high end talent and will eventually find a solid goalie if they haven’t already. The question is will they buy into a system that will enable them to win? Can’t win with talent playing pond hockey, they will need to buy into Lindy’s defensive structure. |

One thing to keep in mind. Let’s say the flyers actually do sell and they take a positive step in this rebuild.
What effect does that have on TK wanting to re-sign? Does he then decide I want to win and test free agency? Does ex selke then ask for a trade (didn’t he say something he doesn’t want to wait around and go through a rebuild?) at some point as clearly they will not be cup contenders for a few years at least.
So do they go into the deadline thinking we can’t hurt TK’s feeling and throw in the towel as we need him? Same to a lesser extent for ex selke. - hello it's me 2050
They have had to have that conversation before giving him the C. I am sure he is aware of the plan to rebuild and sell if, if they do go down that path.
For Konecny, I still believe they should sell high on him. If not at the deadline, then I would ne looking to move him at the draft, maybe to move into top 10.

I am with you this draft is weak would look to get a prospect or picks in later years vs this year - hfc355
Last i heard this draft had 3 to 4 no1 defensemen, so explain how this draft is weak.
This draft is exactly what we need problem is we wont get a shot at any of those kids, because we are doing better than expected. |

At the begining of the year i was hoping FLa and PHI would crap the bed and we would get 2 1st's in the top 15, and now we wont get any unless we trade for a top 15 pick. |

Also talk to Boston about Coots at the draft, they have a couple of solid prospects in there system and 28 mil in cap space. |

I don't think Couturier is going anywhere. They just gave him the C and I have to assume there was talk about the overall direction of this team moving forward and he is in agreement.
Konecny is the guy I would sell high on. Still has one year at a reasonable price and is having a solid year. I am also not a fan of paying Konecny in the 9 million range for 8 years which is where the price tag is rumored to be.

Dealing TK i would hold 50% mainly because the return would net us at least 3 pcs (picks & players). Would like to see if anyone would offer up 2 1st's for him at 50% retained.

I just don't want to be the team to pay him 9mil + on a 8 year deal. I am not saying Konecny is a bad player, just I don't think that contract will age well and I think those funds would be better used elsewhere in the future.

On Scott Laughton...
Although you can be sure that Tortorella does not want to move one of his favorite players, the Flyers are looking toward the future and there are many many teams interested in Scott... The Rangers could use a third-line center, but as of this writing, I'm hearing Colorado may be the most interested, and willing to give up the most... However like everything else changes hourly. That's why you have to keep checking the rumor chart! LOL
And Jakob Chychrun....
The senators aren't actively shopping him, but a few teams are very much lining up to try to see if they are interested in doing so. This is an interesting move because this could be the situation where the Flyers jump in as buyers. Jacob grew up in the Philadelphia area when his father was a member of the Flyers, and there is a big move lately to get back into flyer-type players.

Where is that from? That isn't even close to being accurate and pretty poor reporting.
