apparently he isn't too shabby of a prospect...?

I'd much prefer if Hughes made that kind of acquisition rather than getting an aging veteran near the end of his career.

If everyone is healthy I like to think they will be improved this year and while I am all for some veteran leadership I was wondering if HuGO might surprise us with McGroaty? Would Struble and a pick be enough?

Top 3 lines would be OK and next year throw in DemiD and subtract Army and Gally, and you have a decent top 8

same here, but for now with veterans like Gally, Savard, Armia and Matheson I think their leadership group is just fine. we also have to consider that Caufield and especially Suzuki are now young veterans as well, by now they know the ropes and can definitely help steer the younger guys in the right direction, with MSL overseeing the whole thing.

there's no urgency to grab an aging vet lol.

This applies to any player that is available, I'm surprised I havent seen rumors about some FA in PWHL being linked to Mtl

pretty much, and I get that Hughes and Gorton need to exercise due diligence and inquire about every talented player that becomes available, but there are strong chances that Stamkos' demands for $ and term may be too high for MTL at this stage in their rebuild and with the salary structure they're trying to implement.
