His value has never been lower.

You only take him if the Habs don't need to give any of their most important prospects/young players to acquire him.

Barron is a possibility, it would only make Mailloux's odds of beginning the season in Montreal higher.

- Scabeh

no interest in Laine what so ever.
why do people dance in the street because we didn't trade for PLD but want to trade for Laine?!?

Well the 2 year contract makes the risk manageable compared to the 8 years of PLD.

And the cost of acquisition needs to be low.

I'd say that's big enough of a difference to try your luck on a guy that has the potential to score 40 goals and could easily be an upgrade over Josh (frank)ing Anderson in your top 6.

Sometimes you need to dig through the scrap to find a good deal.

At least that's what I learned from the flea market. Behind that wooden crododile statue you never knew you wanted, is a PS4 that looks damn brand new for 10$!

You know what, I disagree.

Anderson had a horrible, horrible season last year. His value has never been lower.

If he goes back to a 20ish goal socrer, 45 points guy that's fast and hits hard.... suddently he goes from being grossly overpaid to just somewhat overpaid.

If he scored on most of his prime chances early in last season when he couldn't buy a goal to save his life, I think we'd have a whole different narrative about this player.

This being said, anything short of a bounce back and we're stuck with him forever.

Goes back to being a 45 points guy, which is a one year outlier with UFA year Breadman

The hitting is key. As his biggest supporter here, I found him very disengaged this year as it's tough to be a power forward with no power.

Hence why he started getting the nickname AnderReaves in many high level hockey circles
