It was pretty good to just lurk as well. I miss on a late July evening where jbold, UG and tml81 would argue until 3 am and it would be a black or white question. Just 3 guys who would change their opinion because they refused to agree with each other

some people are just going to sit in front of their computer and fight for the rest of their miserable lives. that seems to be a medical condition too.

There a guy who I was arguing with, something dumb (of course), but I was like (frank) this I'm going to bed, around 11. The next morning I had a PM from the guy at 2:30 talking about how I had no rebuttal and he owned my ass, etc

I didn't reply because this person was clearly crazy

the tough guy. the mental patient, lonely serial disagree-er. the guy who needs to spew his version of the news. the political poster. they're all the same. it's the anonymity of the internet that they can't handle. the internet is their place to act out their little mental disorder without any consequences.

I would argue it's quite the opposite, it's precisely what enables them to be such giant (frank)ing cunts.

he's just such a bad troll. he tried trolling me once for a couple hours with no response and when he started to feel the heat that people were watching him try so hard all that time he actually posted "you're mad".

that's what i mean by them not being able to handle it.

a mature person can just be themselves. the internet is not an opportunity for them to act out their tough guy dreams. but these people are missing the chromosome that controls that or something.

oh man, that's what i mean by the golden age of hockeybuzz.

the trolling was awesome back then. but 95% of the people were in on the joke so it was harmless. good trolling is actually hilarious. what we have now is just bad, lazy trolling.

it could have been anything from that to just taking something someone admitted that they shouldn't have and busting their balls about it. or if they misspelled something but it made it sound or look funny somehow, not just a misspelling. most people with properly working brains don't even notice minor typos because with context and any basic level of intelligence, the statement you're reading already makes sense to you and you know what that word is almost before you even get to it. the people who make fun of a simple typo are the people who have to sound out each word to read them.

I get what you're saying. personally though what makes something considered as "trolling" is because the person or people they're annoying is fully aware of how they're being a pain in the ass, but still carry on with it. so trolling is always inherently bad in my mind, as opposed to friendly bantering.

i just don't want him to get frustrated wasting his time.

the thing about dumb people is you never have to wait long for them to say something dumb so they can't win anyway. let them do their thing.
