Since you are "bloggerless" here's my two cents on Laine: https://thehockeywriters....ealistic-trade-canadiens/

Guess who was just asked for their headshots by the Canadiens for their credentials pass

sports is nuts. i read this morning that charles barkley has a 10 year contract to be a basketball analyst but his network might lose the nba and he would apparently have the option to sit at home and get paid 20 million per year for the last 7 years.

he said he knows TNT will have to ask him to take a pay cut but that he will "respectfully decline" to take the pay cut.

btw I agree with your take on Laine about the comparison with Drouin, but it may be a completely different situation as well, it would be up to Hughes to do his homework on that.

not so sure though the habs would have to give up any important assets to acquire him, CLB doesn’t have much leverage in this situation.

wanted out of WPG, wants out of CLB... doesn't that sound a lot like PLD?
- fidopro

Yeah ... I'm Meh about him too.

I'll trust HuGo's judgment on this one, they have much more information than we lowly creatures have.

respectfully disagree, we need talent and size up front and you should buy when the pirce is low

is salary is a moooooooot point since it was not given by the habs

Last but not least we have too many players, so you only do the trade if you can do like Harris+Dvorak + wtv floats their boat

again, no salary retention will be the selling point

to be fair I think Karine's assumption was that CLB would be asking more than just the habs' leftovers like Anderson and Dvorak, in which case I would also strongly hesitate to make a deal.
