I just love how Michkov hasn't even skated one shift in the NHL and he's already the second coming of Gretzky

People losing their poop on social media.

To be honest I wasn't a fan of the Reinbacher pick, but I moved on the day after the draft

you would've preferred Michkov...?

I think the habs' rebuild is looking more than decent so far, but they're definitely due to add some high-end offensive talent to the mix.

I'm sure some people will debate this for the next 10 years but the draft is always a crap shoot.

Personally, I'm happy with Reinbacher as we really needed to reinforce the right side of our D and we got the best one last year.

Small wingers are usually easier to trade for. JMO

I liked Leonard. I was unsure about Michkov (legitimate red flags, or just based or hearsay?)

One thing is for sure, they will need some talented forwards down the pipeline at some point because you can have all the great defensemen you want, even if they can carry the play offensively, you need finishers up front.

I think there were some attitude "issues" that were confirmed, stuff like he apparently didn't respect all of his teammates the same way and on one occasion pushed one of his goalie's equipment around in the locker room just for fun, or something to that extent lol.

then again, what happened between hockey players thousands of miles away from here in a country where you can't quite trust the information circulating in the first place could definitely be misinterpreted. anyway it should be interesting how he responds under Tortorella's coaching...

same here, I see Reinbacher a bit like Slaf. big, strong and solid between the ears. excellent pick.
if Habs were a big team, like Vegas or Dallas, or many many other teams, maybe they would have picked a smaller winger, but that is not the case. they need to get bigger.

slaf made the team right away and they traded for dach and newhook.

I agree its thin in the pipeline but they made some moves to boost the offense as well

The habs regime will just use their Pravda (rds/tva/lebrun/Friedman) to slander who they don't pick/trade away. And all the followers will nod in bovine agreement

Some fefans only want flashy offensive players ... they don't understand that teams also need a solid defense to have any success.

Toronto is an example of what not to do ... sure they're good in the regular season but come playoff time ...

yeah, as I already mentioned some time ago the "bpa" doesn't really mean anything for me in this kind of draft, the evaluations vary too much for it to be significant.

anyway I don't really care if some people freak out about it, I'm gonna continue trusting Hughes' and Gorton's judgement more than a bunch of angry fans who like to whine.

I think a large portion of the fanbase are expecting they draft a forward, they might not all freak out about it if it isn't the case but they're at least hoping they trade for help up front if they don't draft one.

because of kk, I know what can happen when you reach and draft by position, I said that many times

they can trade one of these defensemen for a forward if they want to

Same here, I'll trust them until they give me reasons not to.

It's their job, they have the resources (scouting) to make decisions ... if they mess it up, Molson will fire them and life will go on.

oh for sure they have their own list, most likely multiple lists to try and cover all possible scenarios. I mean, making a decision directly depends on their evaluation of who they think will become the better player and contribute the most to the team's success.
