i didn't have certificates, no. i could have made a lot more if i did. they would have cost me more in the beginning too though.

i actually think the signatures were authentic for sure on the squier. i wasn't 100% sure about the ones on the les paul. eventually i was convinced to sell it because of that and because one of the guys signed more than his name and wrote some gibberish under his name. i was told that might bring the value down even if the autographs were real. also, chris cornell had just died and while pretty cold, that was the time to strike if i was going to sell it.

huh, interesting.

who did you initially buy them from, some random stranger on the interwebz?

that's pretty good, without any authenticity papers you could've been stuck with them or forced to sell them at a much lower price, so actually turning it into a profit is very decent.

aw, I'm sure you have good luck often going your way... going through that ordeal with the fire must've been pretty bad, but hey, now you've got a new place, with your guitars, and a (frank)ing Wawa store not too far away you can go to so that you can brag in here about what you got for lunch...

that's cool man, enjoy having that new place to the fullest, you deserve it.

a "positive" thing about that horrible experience is that perhaps you can now appreciate the little things in life a bit more than before, as it must've put everything into perspective.

it did. i don't let some things bother me anymore because i realize what a big, real problem actually is. don't waste time sweating the small stuff if you don't have to because some of it really isn't even that important.

i wouldn't wish that on anybody. losing all your belongings and all your memories and stuff you saved from growing up is bad enough. but i also particularly hated being displaced. i like going to sleep in my own bed, in my own home, where i'm the most comfortable. the hotels at first sucked and the ghetto apartment was never going to feel comfortable.

yeah, I can only imagine how badly that must've sucked balls, holy.

I'll try other methods to bring me to appreciate things more and not be bothered by trivial stuff...

the smell of smoke somehow stays in your nasal passages for like 2 weeks too. you don't need that. nobody needs that.

exactly!

did i ever tell you about the strawberry guava strain? i'm on my last bit of it right now. i've never come across a strain that smelled more like fruit than this. you can taste if too, but the smell is so strong. opening the jar is like cracking open a bottle of fruit punch. some kind of wacky science is going on when they grow this stuff.

try it if you see it. it's a relaxing one. a little sativa-like right off the bat but then it settles in as an indica (it's an indica-leaning hybrid). not necessarily for right before bed, but maybe for listening to pink floyd animals with the black lights on or something similar.
