Probably not an easy task to get a blow dart in an animal that spends most of it's submerged, drag it to shore when it ways a couple of tons.

They get really territorial in Africa in the drought season when the rivers turns in billabongs ect.

There's no shortage of water bodies in South America so I imagine they aren't overly aggressive. But imagine if the make it to one of the amazon's tributary
