If Cam was smart he would’ve blocked a shot with his face. Would’ve given him a leg up in getting a job with the Flyers.
Just wasn’t thinking a head. |

We knew it was gonna happen. They love Cam too much to let him rot. It's always about protecting members of The Club. Doing what is best for the team is a distant second. - Tomahawk
yep just extended the pain another year. always do right by the player. free agents love seeing that. it wil make them want to sign.
would have had zero issue bringing him back to see what he can do. rather him than ND. |

I’ve said it before that I’m not as well-versed on the draftees as a lot of folks here. Is #4 gonna get a truly elite prospect? - mikeyo27
There are no guarantees beyond Celebrini. There will be kids with elite upside in the top-4 but they'll all come with a number of (big) question marks. |

The point being...saying the name of the devil doesn't "inject" evil into a conversation.
People need to stop this BS that their feelings are hurt and pull their big boy britches up. People who don't want to talk politics always seem to be the ones that make everything political. - Glak18
It does if the discussion then has real danger detouring into religion and morality, which has nothing to do what was being discussed.
My feelings were not hurt. That is frankly difficult to do. I was just trying to be practical.
Anyway, I know little about the draft and find it difficult to get excited about it given the position they are drafting in and the general malaise of the franchise. Further, the UEFA cup is now in the knock-out stage, and Wimbledon is starting in 2 days so there is a lot of meat for my sport junkieness. So, I will beg your leave and toodle off. I just remembered I left some discussion with Landros2 hanging in a blog from half a month ago so I will try and find it if I can and respond some time soon.
Other than that, cheers and I know where I can go to find elevated discourse if I need it.

If the choice was say Nikki Haley (or Rubio or even De Santis) versus the incumbent, the former would get my vote. In the case of the current choices, I would frankly vote for MJL over the challenger, and my opinion of MJL has been extensively noted here.
- PT21
That is all the confirmation needed
I would do so because a vote is not just for a man, in as much as we are not electing a king. It is for his policies, and the institutions he carries along with him. It is also because of a decades long familiiarity with the challenger and his core level incompetence, his pathologies and an extensive knowledge of his past policies and his future ones, especially the economic kind.
- PT21
If you really believed that, you would announce that you're voting for Trump. As his policies are superior to Biden's and all Democrats for that matter.

Did that shot to his face lower his life expectancy or something? The way the Flyers have taken care of this guy would make you think he was on par with Bobby Clarke for this franchise or something. |

Your premise then is exactly what I wrote in response to Schmojo. You should have clarified that when you talk about the importance of a "winning culture" it needs to be preceded by the acknowledgement that there is a contradiction there, because the winning culture needs to be preceded by a losing culture.
As to your other issue about me being persnickety and so on, I am in a good mood today, for professional reasons. But sure, I can see why you would think I am unnecesarily needling you. It is simply to point out to you, in a small example illustrating the large, that you need to put a bit more effort into your posts and your opinions. What did you did in the preceding hour was to demonstrate that you are either too lazy or too dense to appreciate a very basic contradiction in your original post.
understand you have retired, and this is a site that veers between average to pitiful, but there is no reason to lower one's standards because of the company one is in. - PT21
Actually just accepted a consulting position and a board position… I do get a little bored….on a side note your insistence of insults is a sign of insecurity for many positions you hold. It’s called deflecting.😎

If Reinhart comes in at 9.5 million/yr, going to be an awful look if TK is in that price range. Reinhart is a year older. I get the tax advantages of FLA, fans will only compare the cap hit. - Trox88

I'm ALL in favor of trading TK for the future assets, the betterment of the franchise.
BUT if they do re-sign him I don't want anything more than 8m per year...I don't care about "demand" or the salary cap is going up. I don't care if Kucherov signed his deal 15 years ago, there is no reason TK has earned his way to get paid the same or more than him.

Don't like the buyout, but at least we don't have to worry about where Cam is going to be slotted. - Glak18
Agreed. It doesn’t make that big of a problem. Just not the best path forward. Solves a problem, just inefficiently. |

If you want to look at it in isolation, no. In general though, it's just another example of poor decision making that further deludes the hope of this franchise straightening itself out any time soon.

So the plan looks to be 3 years to clear out the bad mistakes, I know I know Coots is still signed for 7.75m.
2 years: All the buyout, retainment should be finished (Petersen, Atkinson, Deangelo, Hayes)
3 years: All the junk deals are over (Ellis, Risto)
Now can we, the fans, not have more added crap for at least 3 years? Just 3 years that's all I ask. I swear it will feel amazing.
