Maybe I'm alone. but if the Flyers 2025-26 team looks like this I am ok with it. I know it is wishful thinking and I'm sure changes will be made (good or bad) that I can't predict now.
Hypothetically the Flyers win the lottery and draft Hagens, it doesn't turn them into a contender or even I think a consistent playoff team right now, but I feel the team looks much better, especially if they are smart with the cap. Lot's of cap space with few to sign if they just ride it out.

Get value assets from trades, including the rest of the assets from 2025 draft and they could stockpile for the future to add pieces little by little. |

It's funny that the Leafs would rather give 5 or 6 years to 34 year old Chris Tanev than trade for Ristolainen. - Feanor
What’s Tanev’s new cap hit and what would the Leafs have to give up? |

Tanev constantly hurt, that’s a pretty brutal deal by Toronto. |

4.5 over 6 years at 34 years old.
Give to the Flyers? A pair of blue socks...

Only when they do something that kinda makes sense. |

I love your optimism and will cheer along for it to come true.
It’s nice to see a positive outlook! Thank you!! |

A little insight into the potential insane center depth in the '25 draft. - Trox88
Didn't the Flyers just pass on a potential franchise dman in a deep defensive draft because they had to many defensemen in their system? Drafting instead 3 depth centers in the 1st, 2nd, and 4th rounds.
Using the Flyers stated logic this year, the last thing the Flyers will do next year is draft a center in center heavy draft in the 1st round, as they just picked 3. I'm thinking they will either go for a LW with a 200' game or a goalie who stops pucks with his face.

To me doing something is moving out vets and not tying up money. I would do whatever I can to be in the hunt for Hagens(2025) and McKenna(2026).
That should be the foresight used to build this team. |

At least these deals are driving down the price for Konecny.
I post this with the assumption he is being resigned. |

Nikita Zadorov would have made a nice shutdown option for the Flyers to play with Drysdale. Too bad the Flyers didn't clear more cap space. |

At the same time it makes a trade even more enticing. TK for 8M AAV or even slightly higher is a good fit for teams. |

Anthony DiMarco is easily the best source for Flyers insider news. If you aren’t following him, you’re missing out. |

Wild traded up to make sure no other teams leapfrogged over them to take Buium, it wasn't about the Flyers taking him it was other teams trying to. - Glak18
ok, that makes sense, but SJ gave up a 2nd to move up 3 spots. The Flyers could not have got a bit more? I guess Briere stated they didn't want to move back that much because there were teams that would take Luchenko. |

The logic in me says my gut was correct months ago, TK is not going or should get more than 8x8 IF the Flyers went the route of re-signing him, which I am not in favor of.
Then logic 2.0 kicks in and I realize the Flyers are not bound by logic rules and make an obscene offer, justify how important he is to the team and let the clueless fan base make excuses for why it has to be done.
I love TK, but he is better off with another team at a different stage than the Flyers. At the same time teams don't get chances to move players with value to help out for the future, if you pass those chances up it always ends up bad.

Absolutely. That should have been the plan for this past season. But they unexpectedly held a playoff spot a long time and then they deviated from the rebuild. |
