Did Tampa watch any Flyers video from last year? How can they look at that and not see Cam is toast. |

Right now lots of teams look improved. Calgary could be bad. San Jose could be in the top 5 again. But a lot of teams have made moves to improve.
This is perfect for the Flyers to now move out Konecny and Laughton. Teams are looking for both types. Top 6 scoring and bottom 6 guys. Now that FA is over it is time to target teams who missed out on players.
It is actually setting up to be a perfect time for the flyers to have 2 down season's and maybe walk away with Hagens in 2025 of McKenna in 2026. |

He's a defensive disaster!
Perfect guy for Torts to have in the perpetual dog house. On second thought, if Torts keeps Sprong in the Cote Suite, perhaps he'll relent on Frost. Just a thought. - Letterkenney
He's like a Bellows that actually scores.

low risk move. see how he respodns i the offseason not having to rehab. they are not going to be asking a lot from him. I say he bounces back and contributes to the 4th line. |

not sure he will the opportunity to.
I would have kept him to see if he did have anything left to offer. |

They got him for peanuts. Maybe see if he can still PK, provide a couple goals on the bottom 6.
I agree though. I would have just kept him in the bottom 6 and sent Deslauriers to Lehigh. Maybe he produces somewhat and can get a mid round pick at the deadline from a contender. |

Briebois is ruthless. Look what he just did with Stamkos, Killorn, and Palat over the last few years. They were all fan favorites and he lowballed all of them out of town. Atkinson gets no guarantees. - GalacticStone
It is a 35+(?) contract so actually he does get some guarantees.... |

I'm recently told that Briere and Jones are instilling character, culture and locker room harmony that is equally important to talent and skill for an NHL team on the Flyers. That should lead to numerous Stanley Cups with the history of how good the Flyers are as an organization in accomplishing that. - MJL
It’s funny how culture and the room don’t matter, yet Colorado gave us a first to help fix theirs… |

if RYJO was such a bad seed as you say why would the flyers bring him into the organization?
does having to pay him what 4 million for another season factor in at all for why they wanted to move him? |

Maybe if he only plays 40 games for them he'll do OK.

Stop making sense. If it was really a rebuild they'd do something as smart as what you had mentioned... but instead we will comtinue to dwell on the low end of mediocrity for another decade..... yay.... |

The flyers have petitioned the league for a slew of new trophies to be added to the current group.
The laperriere trophy- goes to the player who best exemplifies leadership and fortitude after getting smashed in the face with a puck. Guarantees that player has a job for life with that organization.
The Triumvirate trophy- Goes to the team that best shows what a collaborative front office can achieve.
The Rocky Thompson trophy- Goes to the best assistant coach who shows an all around knowledge and excellence at his position.
The Briere trophy- Goes to the GM who is smarter than anyone else in the room and makes the ultimate hockey draft selections.
The Fletcher trophy- For the best trade that didn’t actually happen. Because trades are hard.
The Torterella trophy- For the coach that best establishes a cohesive locker room and whose team plays the right way.
The Nic D trophy- goes to the leagues best 4th liner provided they don’t score more than two goals a season. Must lose most of his fights. Must be a great locker room presence.

Instead of The President's Trophy we can just have a Flyers' trophy awarded to the team whom players in the leagu feel had best exemplified was "really hard to play against." |

Not what I say, what the Colorado players say. It was widely reported.
Why couldn’t the coach just make it work? (As some around here would say regarding Torts and Hayes) - anti-lame
any player quotes? anything else from his long nhl career that says he is a problem?
still didn't answer the question. |

1) we brought him in to get a first and Torts has no problem ending this guys career
2) do you think giving up a 1st to save $4 million makes any sense?
That Devon Toews quote is pretty telling, especially when fans who have been watching those games all believed this was about RyJo. Very rarely are you going to get a player to call out another by name and you know this. Considering the Adrian Dater report as well as many other outlets reporting the same thing , I trust you can put the pieces together, right?

- so why bring him here if a problem. So they waived him to poison the LHV locker room? Having a disgruntled vet there would do wonders for the culture the flyers adore. Just what you want. Schitt don’t jive holmes.
- yes it makes perfect sense as teams' dump contracts all the time. They needed the space as they are in win now mode. You also seem to exclude the fact they got back a good dman to help with with a cup push. Plus a 5th.

2. Sharks
3. Islanders
4. Calgary
5. Columbus

The "trophy" that the Flyers get is that as a whole, the gullible fan base buys into the rhetoric they spew. Culture and all the buzzwords they throw around is the invisible product that they market and sell. Until the fan base as a whole, wises up. Things may never truly change.

Walker wasn’t getting you a first alone. If he did we would have done that rather than taking RyJo.
It doesn’t jive? It’s what happened. We waived him to play in the AHL which is when his “injury” magically appeared. |

- no kidding he wasn't getting a 1st on his own. that isn't news.
- then if such a bad guy why have him in the LHV locker room with the young players? you really want that kind on influence on your prospects? a bad seed disgruntled vet?

Don’t ask me, ask DB and Torts and Jonesy. Cost of doing business for a first they had no business acquiring. They must have had confidence Lappy wouldn’t put up with poop. That or they knew he wouldn’t report.
At least that’s the word around the popcorn machines |
