Yeah. That’s what I’ve been reading also. I don’t what the Flyers think of him or Zeev. All I know is that they traded back to gain another pick and then choose Luchanko. Brier said they had the two players ranked close and that one was similar to some prayers/prospects that they already had. So they went for need. - peesinwind

Also, they may be similiar in that they are a smallish puck moving dmen, but none of the three on the Flyers get comparisons to Hughes and Makar like Buium was and is getting. It wa a dumb pick with what else was still available. |

If the AAV is 9 mil or higher and puts him 35 his last year. I’ll take the pick and prospect if it is a good prospect. - peesinwind
TK will be 29 in the first year of his deal....he will be 37 after an 8 yer deal. |

Hockey Guy has Flyers last in the East…. I could see it.

I don't think they will finish last in the East. But I would be happy with that result. I am hoping for bottom five in the league and MM somehow wins rookie of the year.

Nothing new in the last 24 hours.
https://sports.yahoo.com/...ers-alexei-183509468.html
"He was supposed to fly to Pennsylvania on June 20...but 'completely by accident,' he overslept and missed the flight and remained in Belarus," Bogun said.
He simply has overslept for the last 30 days. Nothing to see here. |

If this team signs TK to a long term deal it is proof that this franchise never learns from its mistakes. Sell high buy low. Sometimes you need to part with good players in their prime to get good future assets. This team is nowhere close to competing for a Stanley Cup. Coots deal=mistake, Risto=mistake, Sanheim=mistake, JVr, etc |

All this concern about zeev but it seems a bunch of other GMs passed as well so though we’re all couch gms I think that says something. Similar to wright dropping through and everyone scratching they’re heads the players have absolutely outplayed him early in the career let’s give it a year before we go at Danny b with pitchforks |

That's flawed thinking. It was my understanding that it was a draft where after the first few handful of picks, many of the players remaining were similar in ranking. It then becomes a situation of what team likes what player when they're all similar in general upside. It's the same situation as with Michkov. When you're given a gift, don't turn it down.

If they loaned him it would mean given up on.

Great for the pro-tank crowd. But not for the rebuild on the fly guys. |

Buium would take 3+ years to develop. I don't think the Flyers want to wait that long. - jd250
How long is it going to take Luchenko to do anything he was one of if not the youngest guys drafted. |

Jet could be the gift just as well as zeev. I mean pre draft rankings are what they are and i absolutely love reading back issues of hockey news to see who the masses were and we’re not right on but it’s like like Philly was the only team to pass on this can’t miss talent My personal gripe is not drafting bpa and going with needs which is also likely the reasoning to Caufield but let’s give this kid a shot we ain’t had someone who can wiggle into the o zone with the puck on his stick like that in years |

He could be. He could wind up being a stud. Based on history though, are we supposed to trust this franchise's ability to go off the board and draft a diamond in the rough? How likely is that? I'm not a draft expert but to my knowledge, there weren't many can't miss talents. I suppose that is sarcasm on your part. It's not about giving or not giving this kid a shot. It's about looking at the process and the reasoning behind what they did. Why they said they made the decision they did.

Found another trade rumor on Facebook. The rumored trade would involve a package from the Sabres that includes power forward Jordan Greenway, a 2025 fourth-round pick, and prospect Noah Ostlund for Joel Farabee. For the Flyers, this trade would represent a shift in focus toward rebuilding and stockpiling future assets.
I personally am in no rush to move Farabee. While I believe the Flyers paid him too soon, I think Farabee, Tippett and Frost are right there in terms of the “next step”. I’d probably jump at this deal if Konency was who the Sabres want and they could have Laughton for free for all I care. |

If Jett can be the Flyers Joe Pavelski I would be happy. He was drafted in the 7th round I think.
