I have an ex girlfriend who could fix anything around her condo and you can't? If you're satisfied with your life, god bless. I'm sure memorizing every episode of Cheers really comes in handy in a pinch. - roenick97

I really liked that the Flyers traded pick number 32 to Edmonton. Now this is a really good team and should have another run at a cup but they would have to win it just to keep that pick in the same pick value. Odds are that the Flyers just moved up that pick a few slots by moving back a year. Plus the Flyers, as well as other teams, stated that the 2025 draft is a deeper draft, especially at center.
I think it hurt this draft but was better for the franchise moving forward. They have a lot of, most likely, top 50 picks on the board. At this point, it looks like 6 picks in the top 50. - peesinwind
What I like about it is Danny was obviously trying to move up, but could not. So feeling that he was going to get a good middle of the road grinder guy or a mid Defensemen that may or may not pan out he moved back, used the extra pick to grab a extra 2nd rounder and pushed the pick to next year where he might have more draft capital to move up.
If he had just picked whatever came up next, I would have been disappointed. But the fact that he moved back to get more capital gives me confidence that he's focused on moving up and getting a higher skill guy, even if it's maybe next year. |

Ok, not my argument but I couldnāt help myself.
Seriously I do any work on my house I know I can do at a high level. Minor plumbing fixes, electrical stuff such as adding light fixtures, putting in dimmer switches. I hung all the double curtain rods in the house for my wife.
Put in all the kitchen cabinet handles.
Built my own garage workbench and storage cabinet.
Started framing the basement to finish it.
Ran my own network cables and terminated them.
I do have an under the sink water treatment system for our kitchen. It has about 6 pieces and getting it to fit will be a nightmare.
Iām paying a pro to put that in. - bird_dog_pa
The older I get the more likely I am to hire a pro. The last thing I did, a couple of months ago, was put a new faucet in the powder room. It wasn't a big deal, but got to admit I'd probably hire someone to do it if I had to replace another one. My flexibilty sucks anymore and trying to see poop under the sink now that I need glasses is annoying. When I bought my first house I did a ton myself; pulled out all the wall to wall carpet, refinished the hardwood floors, painted every room, painted the exterior, put down a new floor and ceiling (added recessed lighting too) in the basement, put in a new kitchen (hung the cabinets, but had someone else put in the countertop and sink and new floors), put new vanities and toilets in the bathrooms. Jus basic stuff. I don't mess with electricity much, dont like heights so I wont work on the roof. I'm really bad at drywall repairs. It's an art. I just cant get it to look good. |

I am terrified the Flyers do not learn their lesson and Konecny is on this list in 2 years.

Iāve done flooring although I have to admit it took me longer than it should have.
Electric is pretty easy. I wired our shed at our last house for a workbench and lighting. Saved over a grand to do that. Trenched the yard myself. PVC pipe is easy to put in.
Drywall I donāt have the knack for either.
Iāve done roof repairs. Ripped up shingles and installed new plywood, barrier and reshingled. The roof was on an addition so pitch wasnāt bad. When we had the house exterior painted I didnāt want to do that at all. We hired a crew. |

I had a good scare trying to move the 220v outlet for the dryer and decided I'd leave it to the pros after that
I actually enjoyed doing the flooring in my basement. I even planned out a fancy pattern and was pretty proud of myself when it all lined up just right in the end...better than the job the pro did in my kitchen. It definitely took me A LOT longer than the pro though.
Contractor and materials prices are so high right now it's ridiculous. I had the roof and gutters replaced on my little detached garage last summer. I swear it cost more than I paid for a new roof on the entire house about 8 years ago. |

I do it all but natural gas, and I don't have that on my property so no biggie.
I just took the last year off work to do a kitchen reno, rebuild the back deck, and redo a major chunk of lanscaping.
The kitchen I had to redo the floors from the joists up..new plywood, etc. Did tile floors, hand made my cabinets, doors, draws, trim.Installed granite countertops, re wired, re plumbed, new windows...the kitchen reno would have cost over $60000 if a contractor did it. I bought the granite in bulk slabs from an apartment builder who had excess. My kitchen including supplies and appliances cost me less than $4000. New lighting throughout the house, and hand made windows boxes and crown molding. Rebuilt my 10x20 deck off the kitchen for less than $600, and the lanscaping and staircase in the yard, etc was just the cost of supplies, but I picked it all up in my F350 dually, It would have cost over $100000 to pay someone to do this. Also redid the ensuite, all but the shower stall.
It was cheaper to take the year off and do it myself than pay someone else to do it. |
