(frank) I wouldn’t be shocked if they try to make him a center with how stupid they are.
They could’ve played TK on the 2nd line this year too and his number would’ve undoubtedly come down. Instead pay him 1st line money to be your future 2RW. Absolute (frank)ing clowns. - hereticpride
This is the part I don't get. Why are they clowns? They are running a business, and they have been given a chance to make a lot of money over the next few years. At a senstitive, fragile time in their business.
That makes them clowns for taking up the chance? |

Konecny's signing was a given as soon as Michkov coming here became a certainty.
They have a chance to make major moolah over the next few years, marketing Michkov's flash, Tort's tantrums, and what is very likely a playoff team with TK. Michkov will score some flashy goals, Hathaway and Nic D will be encouraged to fight, TK will yap, Hilferty will be busy laying the financial groundwork for the joint ventures with Phillies.
They can get 5 years of packed, absolutely roaring stadiums out of this, and in business, 5 years is an eternity.
The Flyers are a highly competent business franchise. They ain't stupid, fellas. I am afraid that would be y'all. - PT21
They thought that with the last front office they hired, how'd that work out? The Flyers are competent at marketing, everything else, not so much.

If Bill like this deal (like the Couturier deal). We just have to obey I'm afraid. |

It’s not forward thinking at all but it is what it is. They now have put themselves in a position where they can’t miss at the draft. It’s not impossible to build a Stanley Cup winning team now but they won’t be able to weaponize cap space anymore. - psuhockey
Not only that, anyone dreaming of the Flyers getting into the top 10 is probably gone. There's no way the Flyers aren't aiming for the playoffs this year and we will hear once again how the noble Flyers tried valiantly and in vain to trade up to draft elite talent but thankfully there was a 200 ft project player available to soften the blow.

It is probably the one where Rempe tuned him up (remember his face) but for somereason the Flyers think ND won that fight - mr4tno

It actually worked out pretty well. Check the figures pre-Covid.

They have no centers. The defense is average at best. Who knows about the goaltending. Konecny is a luxury they do not need with Michkov here. This is not how you build winning teams.
Are we rooting for these guys to have cushy jobs or are we rooting for a goddamn Stanley Cup? |

Strong likelihood this contract becomes an anchor towards the end. I like TK but he’s not an upper echelon player. Disappointed. Seems like a very shortsighted move. |

If we are lucky he is productive for 4-5 years of this 8 year deal. But the 8 year deals always have an anchor ⚓️ risk. Hopefully another potential dead money anchor guy in Couturier will keep it going a couple of seasons at his usual standard. - THE EVIL WITHIN
Couterier (8 years)
Sanheim (8 years)
Tippet (8 years)
Konecny (8 years)
Flyers are currently have 4 8-year contracts on the team and Briere signed 3 of them. That's incredible for the shape the team is in.
The GM who replaces the GM who replaces Briere is going to have a lot of work to do in the 2030s. |

yea, would hate to see them run it back now, move Laughton, and come up with a hockey trade that surprises all of us. You make no more moves, what a joke it will continue to be. |

I think his point is that they don't really give a (frank) about the Cup... but they'll give off a whiff that they do, and keep fan favorites around, and dredge up the Bullies to keep the fans placated and the bean counters swooning. |

If they couldn’t pull something off at the draft they likely won’t now. I’d say they draft a difference maker next summer with the draft capital they have but after settling for Jett I have lost faith in the front office.
Even if by some miracle they draft a stud center they’re going to be (frank)ed when it’s time for his contract. Briere has shown enough now to tell me he’s not the answer. |

Gotta keep this culture of winning and excellence together at all costs.
Meanwhile a loser franchise like Tampa is making ruthless decisions on fan faves. Bunch of dummies. |
