Sir: your place in the HOF of Internet lunatics was already assured. But if it was not, your accusation to a poster of 16+ years, with whom you have interacted on many occasions in this very blog, that he has 'the balls to show up here', would have guaranteed you a first ballot approval on the basis of this post alone.

As for the rest of the gibberish, I understand it is but the lament of a man who longs to fill the aching void of an inferiority complex by saying anything that will force unending acknowledgements of his miserable existence.

I do wish I could help your genuine plight, but sadly, I have other, more interesting demands on my time.

You've been exposed for who and what you are. You can't do anything to change that. It's obvious why you're posting in Ek's thread versus in the Flyers main thread. You obviously didn't grasp what was meant by "here". You obviously had the time to make the non hockey related post that you did. Says a lot of the more interesting demands of your time that you have. Among other things, your repeated racist behavior is on record.

Not true.

19/20 .92 P/G

22/23 1.01 P/G
23/24 .89 P/G

Ok you got me, but only if stats tell the whole story. In 21-22, which you conveniently left out, he was a -23. In 22-23 he was a -12. 23-24 a +4.
I hope you're not one of these people who a) only rely on stats and b) disregard +/- in pro hockey. Coaches use metrics as a source of information, but not as the ONLY source of information. It is also about the "eye test". I don't think you'll hear too many people debate that his production last year was about timely goals, momentum goals off the rush and setting up other players to be successful. He expanded his game to be more well-rounded all over the ice. He led the league in shorties, something that was even talked about during the cup finals. These types of points are back-breakers. This is the eye test. Scoring points when ahead or down 4 goals is not as impactful.

The debate in these blogs has been about his longevity, based on the style he plays and his size. Lasting for 8 years at a productive level to match the dollars over the life of the contract. I agree with those concerns, but not his impact to this team. One only has to go back to the 6 games he missed last season to be reminded.

If the Flyers aren’t the worst run team in the league, I’d like to know who is.

You attempted to point out that Konecny didn't produce points until the last two seasons. That was incorrect. Can you quantify that the points scored in previous seasons were only scored when behind or when down 4 goals? You conveniently left that out.
Are you not reminded by how Konecny faltered down the stretch of the season? I think we're going to find that the shorthanded goals were outliers. Not something that you can rely on.

This is why the Toronto Maple Leafs have the greatest front office.

Their advanced amateur scouts projected that Konecny would demand an oversized contract, nine years after being drafted.

So the Leafs did the smart thing - they flipped the pick to Philly, and Toronto drafted Travis Dermott and Jeremy Bracco instead.

Now Philly has a huge cap problem with Konecny, and Dermott and Bracco are off the Leafs' books.

We're playing 4D chess up here in Toronto, while the rest of you loser franchises are still playing checkers.

The reason I am "posting on Ek's thread" is because the post is a specific response to a post in Ek's thread, which is still current, so would be the natural place to post the response.

Deep, huh?

Hall of fame for Internet morons is not worthy for you. You have transcended it. There has to be something more. Hall of 1? Statue? Postage stamp? MJL national dumbass day?

Damn!

LOL, I'll never win the award for a racist elitist, who is desperate to be viewed by others as a academic and a scholar only to be proven to be an indocrinated puppet with no ability to think for himself. You've got that sewn up.

You want every goal in the proximity of other goals scored for every game? Where is that stat located? If it doesn't exist, then would have to comb every box score manually. If you couldn't tell that his play wasn't more impactful last season then previous seasons, then we have to move on. You just want to keep telling yourself he is not a worthwhile player so you can keep complaining.
This team did not have enough talent on the roster to overcome the level of play teams reach after the trade deadline. It's not golf, it's a team sport. Most of the team trailed off at the end of the season. Isn't that what everyone is concerned about? Their aggregate talent after the draft and free agency? It is going to plateau for longer than we all want due to the bad contracts. In the meantime, there are TV contracts, building sponsorship and game revenues. It's obvious they don't want to totally suck for the entire duration. Maybe they shouldn't call it a rebuild but an emema.
Never said he is going to lead the league every year in shorties. The goal of producing offense on the pk is to keep the opponent from using the best lanes to set up their pp and to keep pressure on them to force errors. The goals are a bonus. Everybody knows that.
If you don't like the team and the direction they're going, perhaps you should pick a different team to follow.

You bring up the situation of when goals were scored and the value of them as part of your premise, now when challenged on that. You balk. How impactful was his play this past season? The Flyers were a non playoff team. He faltered down the stretch in high important games. Most likely due to being spent and worn out like the rest of the team due to poor coaching. I haven't in any way stated that Konecny is not a worthwhile player. What are you talking about? You brought up +/-. Do you know how much of an impact shorthanded goals have on +/-? He was a plus 4 on the season with 7 shorthanded points. Which means at ES, he was a minus player.

I often wonder how someone comes to the conclusion that as a fan, you apparently have to like the team and how it's operating in order to qualify to be a fan of that team. Apparently, as a fan, you don't have the right to be critical if you feel it's warranted. It's really an unintelligent statement.

It's one thing to discuss whether a player is worthy of a contract in terms of quality of player. It's a whole other discussion that you bring up. You're paid according to the revenue to generate and your worth. Pro athletes generate billions in revenue. Free market system

I guess you pay to watch a guy on the taxi squad or on special teams who is not worth talking about because you like his performance and should get a million bucks for that It is not even mediocrity is it

Players on the taxi squad generally make less than players on the regular roster. You know, there is that free market system. You really don't get this, do you?
