Laine on the 3rd line was actually what I was thinking. Or if he is motivated he could be a force on the top two lines. It would be nice to be able to roll out 3 lines again. |

If Dubas is trying to amass prospects and draft picks, they get Laine and he returns to his elite finishing ways then maybe they can off him to a contender for decent return either this season or next. This season he'd still have a year left on contract as well, so more quality back in trade... That's if he could get back to the 30-40 goal scored range. I think it's quite possible he could. |

3rd line/1st PP works for me. |

I don’t see Laine working well with Sid at all. He’d be a fit for prime Malkin but not 40 year old Malkin. I truly do not think he’d pan out here between not fitting well with our centers and Sullivan being pretty much guaranteed to hate him. - Victoro311
Idk, Sid and rust doing the bulk of the dirty work that they are going to do anyways, and laine purely as a sniper might go well together. If laine is able to bury a few then opposing teams cant cheat him and that opens up more space for all involved. Not to mention Letang or karlsson’s passing ability to find laine loading around the half wall.
2 lazy Russians who don’t play defence would just be bad together.
Laine on a 3rd line would lack anybody to set him up and he would be solely a pp specialist which is probably a waste but if he catapults the pens pp up the ranks then maybe that’s ok. |

Agree. Aside from him helping the PP and team now, Laine would be a good candidate to buy low and sell in a year and a half for futures.
I think he'd end up with Malkin. Rackell can either go with Sid or be the third line guy. It's not like he's a big step up defensively from Laine. |

Just got back from a 15-day trip to Japan and Singapore. Did we trade all our bad players yet? |

How about is right handed strong finishing ability on the PP? I think that could possibly help. - MattStrat
Yeah but where does he play at even strength? He doesn’t have a high enough IQ to play with Sid, Malkin’s not good enough to carry an absolute floater on offense anymore, and his skill set would be totally waisted playing the third line with a defensive center like Eller. I just don’t see it at all. |

We only spent a few days in Tokyo, the rest of our Japan time was in Kyoto and Nara. 8 days of nothing but Japanese food was great. |

I have a two week long program management review here. We have one day at the naval base down in Yakosuka but besides that pretty much all in Tokyo. My wife and I are coming back at the end of August though as tourists and we’ll do Tokyo, Kyoto, and Hakone. First time venturing out of the Tokyo area. |

Who would be the other Russian on that line? Between a Finn and a Swede I only count one in Geno. |

Finland did not bleed through WWII just to have their sons be referred to as Russian! |

For some good news though it sound like flyers top goalie prospect doesn’t want to play in Philly. Not good after cutter. Love it lol |

Dubas is tanking by the looks of the signings this summer..If this is the case, sullivan should put the 2 lazy russians with bemstrom and have EK with graves in the backend. Solid tanking players there that play zero defense.
Dubas plan this offseason was to bring in lack of talent in hopes that the core will want out and waive there freedom to be traded. If so dubas would be a genius..Reverse psychology.

Flyers also signed konecny to that 8 year deal? He'll be 35 then.

Konecny is sick though. He’s like a good version of Jake Guentzel. |

I do wonder if the lack of LW talent is the hold up for Crosby signing his extension. I mean if he wants to break records at least give him some talent around him. |

I really don't believe sid will sign another contract with the penguins..TBH. Dubas did nothing to improve this team. The writing was on the wall when dubas sent guentzel to carolina. I don't think nieto would be an improvement with sid..Nieto is beau bennett.
I don't know anything about beauvillier only that he was a 1st round pick. But so was granlund who had 60 points on a bad sharks team, like EK. Strange how players leave the penguins and are way better players on a different team? Lookin at you sullivan. |

I don’t think dubas can outright tank with Sid geno and Letang on the team still. But if trading for laine goes well he could be traded for kids or draft stock. |
