Between Michkov, Foerster, Brink, Tippett, TK and Hathaway, at least 2 will have to play LW.
Odd way to build a roster. - BiggE

Bill,
How do you feel about the majority of Konecny's salary being signing bonuses so as to make the Atkinson (buyout) option useless in the later years of the contract? Is that something that he was going to get no matter what? - Flyers_01
It’s a terrible contract and an idiotic move for a team in the Flyers position to make. |

Even if they do very well in the 2025 draft, those players are 3 years from playing in the NHL and realistically 5 years (or more) from being real contributors to the NHL team.
Its crazy how many are pointing to next years draft as if those three picks will give us 3 NHL players immediately who will produce like stars.
It terrifies me that their plan seems to be to throw 8 year 12 million dollar deals at 28-31 year old UFA 1c and 1d. (because that is what it is going to take.) - MBFlyerfan

Unfortunately, this is the reality that we as Flyers fans face. I love the irony when some Flyers fans say they don't want to be patient. They need to work on that. - MJL
It’s hard for any of us to stay consistent. Since the front office keeps saying one thing, doing other things, icing a team that is a perennial bubble team, handing out contracts to aging players, trying to convince us that picks 12, 25, and 30 are gonna somehow put the kid on a fantastic “rebuild” we’re all pretty skittish to the point where we keep trying to imagine where the heck they are taking this team. I posted on the previous thread. I love the team, but have run out of patience, tolerance or belief in the front office. |

No but you could get someone who has the potential, while I agree they don’t hand elite talent, Tip, York, Farabee, Foerster, all have a good season, they will all have real value. I mean York and Tip and a pick in a package, for the right team would be a haul, no? - wcorvette
No, it wouldn't. I'm not sure why some think that quantity can get you quality. Unlikely. If the goal is to acquire a 1C or 1D, quantity doesn't get it done.

We will disagree here, the players mentioned are very good players, another good season and then they have consistency, no you are not getting a prime or vet 1d/1c, but a strong package has the potential to get a young c with upside being a 1C. |

A combination of York, Farabee, Foerster, or Tippet are not getting you a future young elite level center. It's not happening. At best it might get you someone such as a Zegras, which is not the player the Flyers need. It's a fantasy if you think otherwise.

Comcast hired Hilferty
Hilferty promoted Briere and hired Jones
At the end of the day, the owner controls the purse strings and hires the person at the very top. It’s all on Comcast. |

I totally get it, but I really feel that without a change in ownership, this team is never going anywhere. Snider made his share of mistakes, but his intent was always to build a championship team. Comcast, OTOH, is more concerned with ratings, selling gritty dolls and political correctness than they are with winning. |

They do seem to be following the Cutter playbook.
Problem, what problem? We haven't heard anything.
I wonder if he is worth the well orchestrated outrage that Cutter went through when they finally parted ways. Torts won't know him from a hole in the wall and obviously, "If he doesn't want to be a Flyer, he won't be a Flyer". Which is kind of the player's point.

You have to consider circumstance and the actual performance of the player. It could be a young center who has the potential but is still young and growing. The circumstance could be the team needs goals Mc speed aka Tip and another solid 2-4 D to make a run. The other part of circumstance is the pick, say it is a first, the Flyers would be taking on a young player who needs to grow, while giving up 2 proven players, that will most likely lead to more loses for the Flyers, then then the puck going the other way would be a higher pick. The receiving team gets 2 good pieces plus a good pick to stock the prospect pool. I am not saying there is a McD out there, nor is another McD or Beddard coming in the draft.
