A tear down was never going to happen….but there are and we’re pieces to move…ie Konecny, Laughton, Sanheim, Farabee. There were signings NOT to make. The term “rebuild” was simply used to buy this new regime some extra time. To me it’s another Hextall type attempt at a re-tool. Its chances of working hinge on the draft and its success. One problem is the core is not nearly as good as a starting point that Hextall had to work with. - landros 2
GH
RP
TK
Laughton
Seeler
all guys who should have been moved. Yet not a single one has been. 4 ext with the other one likely to be imo. The 3 stooges have no idea how to build a winning team.
There really is no plan just lets roll with it fo rnow see what happens.
And what has been said.
They need top end talent
Gotta draft it
Timeline
Tk for assets
Tk hurts draft position
How do they get top end talent (draft high)
Everyone knows tk is good (hurts draft position)
That is why you wanted him moved
Which was CORRECT
THIS IS A HORRIBLE DEAL ALL THE WAY AROUND FOR THESE REASONS AND SHOULD BE LAMBASTED
not made excuses for - Stayin alive
I agree with you if the Flyers' plan was to build this through the draft. But clearly extending TK and Hathaway is indicating this is not their plan.

The way I see it, the current reality is the Flyers have 4 potential 30 goal wingers on the team, TK, Foerster, Tippet and Michkov. The Flyers also have 3 legitmate NHL defenseman that can play in the top 4, York, Drysdale and Sanheim. What they lack is the most important pieces, a true 1D, a 1C and a true 2C, though if Couts is actually healthy he could be that guy. I think Luchanko might be on the team sooner than people thing to be honest. Then maybe the Flyers sign a 1C or 2C in free agency. What about the 1D? Is that Oliver Bonk? It could be, but not in the immediate future.
You realize all you are doing is trolling, while I am participating in actual hockey conversations. Grow up. - jd250
Actually it's the opposite. Disagreeing with you and pointing out how you flip flop and change your hockey positions at a ridiculous frequency, is not trolling. That's hockey related. The above post and these posts you've made below, are examples of trolling.
"Doing what you do best I see, trying everything you can to berate me. Well, this response isn't for you since you are as predictable as a doorknob and dumb as a stick, thus no matter what I post will not be understood. But for those on this site that I know read what I post with an open mind, especially those that have messaged me privately expressing their support, this one is for you."

Bonk doesn't project to be a #1 at all. When do you Jett in the lineup?
JD hasn't shown to be a top 4 as of it. There will be no #1 center via free agency who will come to the Flyers unless a max term and $ contract for starters. The goaltending is below average at this time. No future #1 in sight anytime soon in the system

Luchanko is 2-3 years away from making a legitimate impact at best. The odds are very low that Bonk develops into a 1D. His most likely projection is a 2nd pair NHL defenseman.
I view it this way….for Briere’s re-tool to work the Flyers still need to add at least two guys not currently in the organization that will be better than anything we currently have. A 1rst line C, superstar like….and a true #1 D. - landros 2
I agree except for the true #1. No one on earth was calling Gustav Forsling a true #1 and he just won the cup with Florida.
You just contradicted yourself. First you say that you didn't say it was relevant. Then you say it puts it in better perspective. There are no words put in your mouth. You obviously have no idea what you post from one second to the next. - MJL
You know you are always negative, they say a fan that's always negative is a cowardly fan, because if the team is bad it easy to say I told you so and if the team is good who cares the team is good.
You always pick on certain ppl for being positive or just a fan, who cares how he flip flops.
A fan is a fan because when you hot the fan blows on you, if you cold they don't.
I did not say anything about fair. Torts lost credibility with his players last year. Do you have less respect for the bosses that slept with employees at this point? It sounds like you do.
Torts preaches accountability and then runs from being held accountable frequently. The players see that and eventually his shenanigans will grow tired. Nothing about being fair. - mickel25
It doesn’t matter if I like or respect my bosses. My job is to do what they say, so I can continue making a living.

You are uninformed. I've been posting on here since 2007. I used be accused of having orange colored glasses on and for rubber stamping everything the Flyers did. I call it like I see it. Instead of making asinine comments, why not bring something to the table and tell me why I'm wrong and we can discuss it. You won't do that though because the above is the extent of what you can contribute. Which is nothing. I never "pick" on someone for being positive. I critique opinions simply based on what I think of them. Whether that opinion is positive or negative. I care about the flip flopping. You are free to care or not care. Your choice.
I challenge you to actually add something to the conversation. Tell me why I'm wrong about the Flyers. Man up.

Lot of d prospects have looked pretty great in London only to struggle to carry that level over to the pros: MDZ, Merkley, Maatta, Boqvist, Mete, Juolevi, Syvret, etc.
The kid does have solid potential and had himself a very strong D+1 season... but the fat part of the bell curve still sits squarely on #3/4 defenseman.

“You can grab a bunch of mid-pack NHL veterans, stick them in a lineup coached by a demanded bench boss, as Tortorella is, and get some results, but not nearly enough to make you a contender. In the process, those players will be just good enough to take you out of the running for any generational talent that may be coming along. That gets you stuck in purgatory. It’s how you don’t escape the rest of the hockey world passing you by. It can leave you stuck in that position for years – look no further than the last decade of Flyers hockey.”

This year I don't expect much, I'm hoping bottom 10, but they very well could be better, but with 3 first a few 2nd picks and cap space to open up, things can change very positive a lot faster then expected.
Personally I would have traded tk for best package available, but they didn't which is OK because you can have a team of 19,20 year Olds you gonna need a few vets and some will be getting paid.
And I do see the light at the end of the tunnel, you don't need to be complete crap for 6 years to build a cup contender. We already have a solid top prospect in mm and next year's draft we will have at lest 2 others.
Jett I think k will surprise you with his ceiling.
I wouldn't be surprised if he pushing for a roster spot in 2 years

have the flyers shown the can draft and use those picks wisely to change the current protectory of the team?
I see no light at all. Not even a dim one. Flyers have been crap for longer and look where they currently sit.

They’ve pretty much been partial to complete crap for 4 seasons and are no closer to contending now then they were in September of 2020. The team has been poorly managed since 2012 and there seems to be no end in sight.
At this point I have more faith in gas station sushi, a daycare run by Casey Anthony and in Bill Cosby as a bartender than I do in Flyers management.

You don't need to be complete crap for 6 years. At some point, you need to start ascending. However if you want to be an elite team, you need elite players. One is not good enough. What is the best chance for the Flyers to add more players? The Flyers have Farabee, Tippett, Foerster, Hathaway etc on the wing. They didn't need to keep Konecny for a vet presence on the wing. It was a mistake to not trade him.
In terms of Luchanko, pushing for a roster spot and making an impact are two different things.
What is the Flyers plan to acquire more elite talent? Has their normal approach been successful in that regard? What evidence is there that they have significantly changed their approach?
