So Edmonton deals Ceci, saving $3.25m, but add in $1.95m.
They now sit $5.92m over.
They can place Kane on LTIR, moving $5.13m off the roster, leaving them $0.79m over the Cap.

Next, they can waive a player to the AHL and bury all or a portion of the cap hit from Cap Relief of the lower of a) Contract or b) around $1.1m in doing so .

Edmonton could retain both OS'd players if they wanted to, they will just have to deal with it IF Kane comes back during regular season.

Edit: IMO, they retain Broberg at least. Having just turned 23, he is just coming into his own, while still need to round out his defensive game more. As A D, he has more time to do so.

Interesting. Read something about that over the last several days as a possibility.
.911 Sv% in AHL last 2 seasons...good, but would have expected a bit higher.
That said, he should be ready to get more NHL games and begin that journey.

I wonder if The Sens make a bid.

His numbers did give some cause to concern, especially on a powerhouse like Milwaukee, but in a small sample at the NHL level he did look amazing. Definitely a lot of talent there, may need a year to season, but he's got high end starter potential. Wonder what he gets in return.

Sadly, I'm pretty worried about that. He's just had horrible luck. The Meier hit was so flukey.
