As far as Briere and Jones go, I have no issue with Briere. He came here, put the work in and did whatever was necessary to get to this point.
The Jones hiring to me is what I dont understand. Granted I dont know Jones, I dont know what experiences he has outside of Broadcasting, Maybe he did attend coursed that make him qualified but to us fans he doesnt seem like he has any experience and it is even more mindboggling that a Corporation such as Comcast would employ someone with a lack of experience. Companies tend to look for experience when hiring especially for big positions. If Jones is bad at his job, he could potentially cost Comcast a lot of money. Makes no sense to me
People put too much stock into what front office people say.At the end of the day, they are only going to tell the truth, if the truth is good news. If it is bad news, its going to be spun for PR. It is just how front offices work. No GM is going to go out there and say "Well we botched that draft" or "we didnt draft this player because we thought he'd bail on us too". It is alway need to know basis with Front offices. - xShoot4WarAmpsx
All Keith Jones can hang his hat on is, he has a full career of playing and than as a broadcaster, watched a lot of hockey. I’m not saying I agree with the hire but he’s no different than a season ticket holder that barely misses a game. |

When Bob Clarke went on his rant about Hextall a few years ago, he mentioned that the Flyers had a deal in place for Ryan O'Reilly but that Hextall nixed it. - jd250
Clarke hates Hextall so it isnt out of the question that he's modified to truth to fit his narrative.

This is exactly right. This new group of player development has just been on the job for about 1 year. They need to be given a chance to succeed. - jd250
you see the names and think well they have to be good.
Do you even know what they do or what their role even is?
LeClair been out of the game a long time. Does he have any coaching experience? Any scouting experience? What about development? Wonder why he was hired after being away for so long with no involvement.
Do you not think there were better candidates out there for what it is they were hired to do.

there was no rant at all. |

Right. We won’t know the type of job LeClair and Sharp have done for a couple years. Basically until Jett makes the team. Jett is this full complimentary group’s pick. From I saw a couple weeks ago, he’s not a bad player. - roenick97
What does jett making the team have to do with those 2? |

not signing cutter - hello it's me 2050
Cmon thats a bull. Regardless of any mistakes the Flyers made with him, he is just as at fault for the situation.
Not once did he appear to make any sort of effort to resolve any issues he had with the team. You got a problem with your employer, you make an attempt to resolve it before quiting. You dont just throw your hands up and yell "Im out"
Having to wait a year to get signed is such a minor issue and from what I read he wanted to go back to college because his team was stacked. So I doubt thats the issue.

I thought I heard Charlie O'Connor say that. Could just be Clarke protecting his friend Fletcher |

Name one example where they have failed so far? All I am saying is its too early to say whether this regime is failing or not. We need to let them see their plan through and then judge them on the results. - jd250
The Flyers have been failing for over a decade. Jones just admitted that they're not rebuilding. They botched the Gauthier situation. They failed by not trading and re-signing Hathaway. They failed by keeping Deslauriers on the team. By re-signing Nick Seeler. By re-signing Erik Johnson. They haven't created roster spots for the players that you earlier today claimed are being so well developed. Including Andrae whom Briere named as a reason for why they didn't draft Buium. Andrae is so good that he won't make the team.
Now your turn to answer my questions. |

It is a rebuild. Danny is building through the draft. Tearing it down is a method of rebuilding. It is a better way at potentially securing top talent. However you have to commit to losing money, something that a team owned by a Business like Comcast would never approve. Like Bill has posted in the past it is a Hextall type rebuild. We all have sour thoughts about Hextall's tenure here but let's be fair. If Hextall doesnt miss on that Nolan Patrick Pick, he likely still keeps his job.
I also heard a rumour suggesting the Flyers did not originally intend to sign JVR. Flyers front office promised Dave Scott a big splash at the draft and the deal that was in the works fell through. Now the rumour is that the player was either Panarin or Ryan O'Reilly. Both make sense as this wasnt the first time I heard rumblings about the Flyers going after RoR, swaer someone within the Flyers said he was targetted at one point and Panarin only wanted to play for the Rangers which is why a deal potentially fell through. This would hjave been 2018-19 with Panarin on the final year of his deal. IF he was the player, the trade probably required Panarin to agree to an extension with PHI before they agreed and since he wanted to go to NY, he refused.
Whatever the deal was is no matter as Dave Scott was upset as no big splash was made which is why Hextall went out and made the "Big Splash" that sealed his fate. - xShoot4WarAmpsx
It's not a rebuild. The Flyers don't know what a rebuild is.

Who would be putting a deal in place without the GM being involved? Think about it.

LOL. What did you post? You posted that hiring them was an upgrade. That hiring them has been a good thing. Based on what exactly. That is completely different then saying give them a chance to succeed. As usual, you have no clue what you even post.

Jones was hired because with the way they were setting up the front office. With a triumvirate and the POHO not having control, no serious candidate would take the job. So they went with Jones as the head cheerleader. Which is basically what he is. The Flyers reveal their incompetence all the time with what they speak of.

You're wrong, it's not a minor issue. It is a big issue and involves millions of dollars. The Flyers were idiots for what they did and they completely screwed that situation up. It was complete incompetence on their part.

Flyers haven’t fired anyone in that FO - in a decade outside of Hextall, Pryor, and Fletcher.
If I’m wrong on that, I’d love to know who else. |

I don’t know the answer to that. All I know is this is the group currently in charge. The development staff has been overhauled and we need to give them a chance before we just assume they suck and will fail. I certainly think they have the capability to be good. |

Deslauriers and Johnson will not block anyone. They are here to fill a role, nothing more. Deslauriers sat for most of the last part of last season, so clearly he will be used less this year. Seeler is a fine bottom pairing defenseman and a good leader and role model for the younger players. Hathaway was an odd signing at first but once TK was extended it was clear to need the plan is to retool through trades and free agency, not through the draft. With Gauthier that is your opinion. My opinion is he was an entitled brat that karma will take care of soon enough. |

All I did was demonstrate that the organization has already been overhauled top to bottom. You just can’t wait to post how bad the new organization is without even giving it a chance. |

Deslauriers played 60 games last year. If he is on the roster, he is blocking someone. So is Seeler and Johnson. You tout the development of players like Ginning, Attard and Andrae and then support the Flyers putting players with no future blocking them. You don't make sense. You're not using common sense with the Gauthier situation. All the Flyers had to do was what every team is doing with top college players. They screwed up royally. Karma LMAO

No, that's not what you did. You posted all of it was good things. I'm asking for the evidence of that. Then you moved the goal post to giving them a chance. When the organization gives me a reason to believe differently, I will. How many times do you have to be wrong? How many times do I have to be proven correct? You'll never learn. You're incapable of it.
