I keep hearing that Nolan Patrick was impressive when he wasn’t always hurt? Does the ability to actually be able to suit up not play in to your comments or way of thinking?
- landros 2

Drysdale isnt always hurt. He has had trouble for the past 2 seasons. No injury issues beyond that. Patrick is also over blown too. Guy missed time due to I think was 2 MCL tears or something like that. His career was ended by a concussion he sustained in Philadelphia. There was a preexisting condition but it was never an issue until that concussion.

Drydale has not been in any way impressive at any point in a Flyers uniform. Man, you are a homer.
- MJL

To my eyes he has shown me a lot of good things in what I have seen. I'm not so much a homer as you are a hater.

the Flyers tried to keep Gauthier's decision to leave the Flyers quiet not so much because of the trade, but was to protect Gauthier from the fanbase in case he changed his mind and signed with the Flyers. With McGroarty it was out there already so there was no way the Jets could ever bring him to the team if he had a change of heart. I think that is the difference here.
- jd250

lol give me a fn break with this nonsense.

also BS on Rutger. If he wanted to come back they would have with open arms

WPG didnt get fair value at least from what I see. Im no expert in either player so im just taking things but what I read. Guy PIT has has a higher chance at being elite and a much higher chance at being an NHL player accoring the link below

https://thehockeywriters....s-mcgroarty-trade-grades/

- xShoot4WarAmpsx

I don’t think either guy is elite. I think the kid Winnipeg got is more skilled and more of a shooter and at this point the guy the pens got is more rounded. We’ll see. But to me on paper, it’s a fairly even deal.

Two injury plagued seasons out of Four…let’s hope you are correct and he’s just had bad luck the last two. Unfortunately theses are the years that can make or break a young d man’s potential. No argument from me that if Drysdale hits his potential the Flyers will have won the trade. That’s a big if.

I said Drysdale was touted as the best defenseman of his draft class. Yes Sanderson was picked right before him, but the doesn't change what Drysdale was considered at the time. As I stated Yager is a good prospect, but nothing more at this point.
- jd250

Sanderson was drafted higher and has surpassed Drysdale as an actual player. Those are the facts. Both Drysdale and Yager have to prove themselves at this point in time. The same standard needs to be applied to both.

Shown a lot of good things is far different than being impressive. Can you explain to me how stating that we need to see Drysdale prove he can stay healthy and evaluate from there, is being a hater?

Here's the thing Gauthier has had a year now to clear the air and he hasnt. All we have gotten from him was that it wasnt just one thing, there were a few red flags. I dont know what red flags he could have seen when he hasnt been with the org at all. It isnt like he was around the team and saw how things worked. All he likely would have had was some phone conversations.

There is no reason for Gauthier to clear the air and nothing to gain from it. It was not about red flags he saw with the team. The reason he didn't want to play for the Flyers was obvious.

Why does he have to clear he has moved on. It's the Flyers who put their spin on it. Everyone seems to know the reason why he wanted out. The Flyers promised to sign him at the end of 2023 season and burn a year of eligibility then reneged . He lost trust in the team that he was born to play for.

I agree, he has no obligation to clear the air. I think it needs to be clarified though, to my knowledge there was no promise made by the Flyers to sign him at the end of his NCAA season. From the information that I have seen.

Sucks to be Gauthier. He and Michkov would be the clear stars and center focus on this team right now if he stayed.

Sucks more for the Flyers sadly.

A core of say Gauthier, Michkov, and Buium would have been exciting. A decent start to a talent base.

Instead we have a cripple in Drysdale, Matvei, and Luchenko.

Whatever happened with Gauthier will be between him, and the team - but to lose a prospect of that caliber because he’s not happy with your organization is a mistake. Especially after propaganda master Jones wanted to make them a premier destination again.

He might have an ego, but apparently ego that only prevents him for playing for the Flyers?

Hartnell, Mason, Voracek, Ghost, Hayes, Couturier, Frost, Farabee, Allison, Gauthier, Kolosov.

Can arguably add the departure of Gagne, and Richards/Carter to that mix.

At some point maybe we will see accountability or a change to the arrogance that has infested this franchise. Or we can continue to blame the players.

Another bozo take 🤡. He’s going to a team full of young talent, here he only had Michkov

I’m tempted to add Giroux to that list.

For a team that’s batpoop scared to deal any actual talent away - they apparently didn’t even offer a deal to Giroux to stay. The captain, and most talented player on the team.

You can bet your ass that was another obsession with “culture” from the old rats that continue to have influence

I absolutely agree.

Drysdale has shown to be everything he was touted to be - an "effortless, elite skater", "capable of running the power play and driving offense with his skating", an excellent transition player", and so on. And that is playing at less that 100% due to the core injury.

It doesn't take much imagination to realize how special he can be, and I believe will be, when healthy.

Good to see you back posting.

I'll give you an elite skating ability but that's about it. It's a small sample and he obviously wasn't healthy so it's not fair to make a definitive judgement at this point. However, other than skating ability, I saw none of that. He was not good at all on the PP and his transition play was average at best.

I'd be happy to show you the statistical evidence that what you see, just isn't the case.

I need to see a lot more and what he needs to show that he can be special is to see a high level of hockey IQ. That has not been on display yet, and I emphasize yet as a Flyer.

He has played 1 full season in the last 3 and topped out at 4 goals with a huge minus in +/-...I need a vivid imagination to see a top pair power play QB......Looks to me like a decent 2nd pair guy if he can stay healthy[url]

Whay does everyone think about the Pitt-Win trade? Win was able to get equal value for a disgruntled prospect. Why couldn't we?

you don't think drysdale will be good? we got a 2nd also

Yea. Took some time off.

He hasn't put up the numbers he's projected as of yet, mainly because of injuries. But I'm looking at more than just numbers. I'm looking at a 22 year old who has shown that he clearly has the ability to justify all of the overwhelming positive reviews that he's been showered with.

I can see the smoothness in his stride, his excellent edge work, his balance, his terrific first tape to tape pass, his confidence...again, all this while playing on figuratively one leg. I'm looking forward to his game once totally healthy.
