Why? LOL. Lets simply look at the 3 most important positions on the ice. Center, defense and goaltending. Let's compare the top prospects for each of those positions and see who has the higher rated players. Then we can revisit after this upcoming season, when the Sharks are likely to get another top 5 pick in what is considered a very good draft, compared to where the Flyers draft. I don't know where to purchase a crystal ball. That's not what you need anyways. What you need is to find out where to purchase a brain. You need one.

The Sharks have strong projected top end talent in their system, but none have played a pro game yet so I think we should hold the appause for a bit. I am a big fan of Will Smith as you known, and I think he will kill it at the NHL level. We'll see how Celebrini and Richard1nson develop, but they are top end talent for sure. One of my other favorites is Quentin Musty. I think he is really going to be a fun player to watch. On the Flyers side, I really like what I see out of Bonk and I think Jett is going to have a great +1 season. I'm not on the Barkey bandwagon simply because I think he is just too small. However the player that pushes the Flyers ahead of the Sharks in my mind is Michkov, the Sharks have no one with his potential. Even Celebrini, who I like and has potential to be a really good player in this league, is not at Michkov's level.

Flyers once had top 10 prospect pool and didn't win anything.

Prospects mean nothing until you see what they can do in the NHL.

You just hope some of the prospects turn into nhl players

This is ultimately what got Hextall canned; well this and he was an a-hole to people. Hextall didn't draft well, and certainly didn't develop his picks well enough. If Provorov and Patrick had worked out, Hextall might still be the GM. That's the draft for you.

Sharks prospects > Flyers and it really isn't that debatable. Outside of MM it is very barren in flyer land

Yet all draft stuff said Celebrini would be drafted ahead of MM.

did chuck and flahr develop their picks. Do not see a lot of nhl players on the rosters they drafted. Or did they just not draft well overall?

I'm confused why we are even debating this. What else are we talking about but potential when discussing draft picks and prospects?

the flyers fellators have to defend to the end.

outside a few players flyers have nothing of substance in the system. though will give a shout out to hunter mac. he is a born leader, can block shots, and hits.

sharks were ranked 3 overall before the 2024 draft.

in a way they don't though at the end of the day clearly would take what they have over the flyers very easily.

true to the first part.

And yes in the end, based on potential, (which is all you can base it on)

Would you rather have the San Jose pool of players or the Philly pool of players?

San Jose is building from the top down, drafting NUMEROUS potential (there's that word again) stars first, then you fill in the team below. VS the Flyers who are building from the bottom up and hoping to sign aging stars to big money long term contracts.

Both plans can work. But one plan creates a longer window to contend IMO, while the other usually ends badly.

Did I say top 3? Nope I said group.

Let's see the prospects play on the nhl before we annoint them super stars.

LOL, Celebrini is rated a higher prospect on many lists. Your Flyers bias is showing. You really are very uninformed

Why aren't you applying the same standard of judgement to Hextall's drafting that you do with supporting Flahr?

I absolutely am. York is better than Provorov. Foerster is already better than Patrick.

Fletcher drafted

Brink
Foerster
Gauthier
York
Attard

All have seen NHL action. Attard and Andrae may be ready to make the jump however. Ristolainen is in the way. Flyers are trying to move him. Seeler is also in the way, He should have been traded or at least not received any trade protection. Kolosov and McDonald people are high on however getting Kolosov over has been an issue.

You want to talk picks, San Jose only has 2 guys on their roster from the draft during Fletchers tenure(Eklund and Bordeleau).

Ferrerro was drafted earlier. Celebrini was taken last season. Smith year before and everyone else were adds

You cant teach that ability. The ability to pick the room music, the ability to lead locker room chants, the ability to show other players the way to the locker room from the street in all the arenas. The ability to make mean faces at the opposition when they are caving you in on the ice.

For me that requires perspective. The Flyers may very well be back into the spending spree in free agency by then. The Flyers specialize in building an over priced, capped out playoff team that doesn't have a chance in hell of winning the cup. What the Flyers are doing is not a rebuild. It's just a pause until they can get some more cap space and "thread the needle" as the team's Chief Cheerleader has said.
