I'd like to keep Shesterkin's cap hit down, but there certainly isn't ever going to be a number where I'm thinking it's better to let him walk, like many clowns on twitter seem to be saying

In a hard cap league I’d love a goalie to be at 10% of the cap. Unfortunately the rangers built their roster around Igor. Without him they are an avg team especially 5v5. If they were to move him they would have to completely change their philosophy on how they play and build their roster

Exactly. I don’t see a situation where Igor and the Rangers don’t come to an agreement. Eventually we might think he got a little too much, but the Rangers are a much worse team without him.

there isn't a possibility of moving Igor either, unless the wheels fall off this season and they are out of it at the deadline, but I don't see this team in that boat at all.

realistically, it's going to be give Igor the largest and longest contract a goalie has ever gotten, or let him become a UFA July 1st, only two scenarios.
