Some of these prospect names are too long to say and spell out so am sure Manny will say his versions in interviews. Problem is originality he called defenseman Elias Peterssen as Petey lol.
- Quinn's Quest

One Elias Petterson is known as Pouty, the newer one is known as Petey.

Also, that was a hilarious comment

I met him at a golf tournament years ago in a beer/snack tent.

He ordered 4 hotdogs, then looked at his caddy and said

"are you going to order?"

But yet NFU hasn't said yet what he thinks Tocchet's names will be for either Pouty or Petey lol...

Should be interesting from the 15 year old mind...

Film at 11.

A couple of buddies of mine went to Winter Harbour and came back Friday with 11 ling cod 20-30 lbs and 3 halibut 30-50 so we processed fish all day yesterday. 96 cryovaced packages of ling and 39 of halibut. The fun part was playing Tetris trying to get all of it in his 2 freezers. I was to tired to go out this morning, plus I don't need anymore fish. I'm looking forward to the Coho derbies next month.

This is an amazing soup recipe.

Coconut lime ling cod soup

1 lb white fish fillets (such as cod or halibut), cut into bite-sized pieces
1 tbsp olive oil
1 onion, finely chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp ginger, grated
1 red bell pepper, sliced
1 can (14 oz) coconut milk
4 cups fish or vegetable broth
2 tbsp fish sauce
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp lime zest
2 tbsp lime juice
1 tbsp sugar
1-2 Thai bird chilies, sliced (optional, for heat)
1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
1 cup baby spinach or kale
Salt and pepper, to taste

For Garnish:
Fresh cilantro, chopped
Lime wedges
Thinly sliced green onions

Instructions:
Sauté the Aromatics:
Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
Add the chopped onion and sauté for about 3-4 minutes until softened.
Add the minced garlic and grated ginger, and sauté for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
Cook the Vegetables:
Add the sliced red bell pepper and cook for another 3-4 minutes until slightly softened.
Add the Liquids:
Pour in the coconut milk and fish or vegetable broth.
Stir in the fish sauce, soy sauce, lime zest, lime juice, and sugar.
Simmer the Soup:
Bring the soup to a gentle simmer and cook for about 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
Add the Fish and Vegetables:
Cook the Fish:
Add the bite-sized fish pieces to the simmering soup.
Add the cherry tomatoes and Thai bird chilies (if using).
Cook for about 5-7 minutes until the fish is opaque and cooked through.
Add the Greens:
Stir in the baby spinach or kale and cook until wilted, about 1-2 minutes.
Season the soup with salt and pepper to taste.
Garnish and Serve:
Garnish the Soup:
Ladle the soup into bowls.
Garnish with fresh cilantro, sliced green onions, and lime wedges on the side.

Awesome. My freezer is still pretty full from our Bamfield trip in June. I am starting to fill my buddies freezer. Plus all the fresh fish we've been eating. It's been a good season so far.

It's been a great year, I feel sorry for California and Southern Oregon who've had their salmon season cancelled for the 2nd year in a row.

The guides up in Winter harbour said that when the earthquake hit off the coast earlier this summer, all the salmon disappeared for 10 days.

Rick Tocchet on Thatcher Demko: “He's really excited about his progress. So that's what I go by. We don't have a target date. There's no targeting. He's getting better every day. I've noticed the last 2-3 weeks, he's getting better every day, and that's what we want.”
