I couldn't care less about the acquisition cost as nobody had McLeod's Capabilities at the time and was ready to play NHL games.
By all accounts, they got what they wanted in a 3C, which is what Taco stated in his post earlier.

Now, to your question, I'd be happy with 35-40 and more upside.

Such a strange preseason for them. Guess the main group plays 2 home games then jumps on a plane, then we watch the Amerks get grossly outmatched for 4 games.
