I want more info on this one. my initial thought was a total screw up by the flyers

I don't by the homesick angle. If that really is the case the oh well not much you can do. Seems there is more to the story. Both parties are probably at fault.

Just guessing but I wonder if he saw Fedotov come over and sign that 2 year deal and thought instead of being blocked in Lehigh he prefer to just stay in Russia.

Could be wrong. Just seemed weird that he did come over so it seemed he wanted to be in north america.

Sid signs 2 years at 8.7

What a dream scenario he has been for Pittsburgh. Not only the best, or near best player in the league for the entirety of his career, but to have him for 8.7 million a year in perpetuity. Giving Pittsburgh the ability to put a great team around him for years and years.

- MBFlyerfan

You really believe its a great team around him?

Sid took the team route so they could bring in Hayes...

I’ll say this about Jett Luchanko. Johnathon Toews I don’t believe was ever on the same level as Patrick Kane. All Toews had to do was have a solid two way game and keep up. If Jett Luchanko can keep up with Michkov, we might have a pretty good line moving forward.

Friedman says the flyers set an asking price of a 2nd rd pick for kolosov though still working to get it resolved.
- hello it's me 2050

Who's going to want him if he doesn't want to come to North America? Is Friedman saying it's just the Flyers that Kolosov doesn't want to play for?

Some pens fans I’m talking to expect them to miss the playoffs again and if they do, sod would waive his ntc to go to a contender with picks coming back to allow the start of the rebuild. Nothing more than opinion from the pens fans I know.

Personally, I’m surprised he signed for that much. I figured it’d be like 2 years at 4.87 mil or something like that. Reduced amount to allow more money to be spent on getting a player or two to help.

I think the point is that they no longer have a great team around him. They’ve missed the playoffs the last two years and I think they’re at least a few players away from contending. Goaltending is a big issue for them and karlsson hasn’t been able to change the fortunes of the team.

Yeah. Hopefully we get more info. If kolosov. Ones out and says it’s just that I don’t want to play for the flyers then that’s a big issue. Will really look bad if he’s happy to go to another orgs minor system but not here.

He's taken a reduced rate for his entire career and $8.7Mx2 is still a massive paycut for him.

Big ooof. I really got to get used to living in this MK Ultra brainwash landscape where people have canned responses to everything now.

I'll try my best to hold hands and baby step this process...

This is what YOU said:

I didn't ask about or disagree with his career, accomplishments, team success 8 YEARS AGO...he just signed the contract YOU'RE referring to just recently.

They have Karlsson @ 10m...which was IMO was a good move. He may not be worth 10m, but they dropped a lot of dead cap for a player who is still productive, maybe not as productive as he once was, but also 34 years old.

They have Malkin @ 6.1m...who did the same as Crosby, was a draft pick of theirs and is 38 years old.

Letang @ 6.1m...Again same as Crosby and Malkin, draft pick and is 37 years old.

Now let's look at the Penguins team around that, even if you want let's look at the team the last few years....

DO YOU REALLY BELIEVE IT'S A GREAT TEAM AROUND HIM?

Damn you and others can’t comprehend anything huh. His post was clearly about the contract , which is now essentially extended yes, that they’ve had him at through the duration of his career.

Luchanko is faster than Michkov! Just sayin...In fact, that could be one hinderance to Michkov's game. He certainly doesn't look like the fastest guy I've ever seen on skates.

Michkov's quickness and game-speed, hands and mental approach to the game is his superpower. Reading the plays and seeing things come into focus before they happen which makes him seem faster than he really is (Gretzky was the best at this, and no I'm not comparing Michkov to Gretzky). He also has an insane toolkit in his repertoire. Hands, agility, skating/edge-work, puck distribution, seeing the ice, etc.

risto for e. kane?

start kane on ltir and open up a d spot for a young defenseman.

- anti-lame

Pass

The point of moving Risto is to open a slot for a young player. Yes, it accomlishes it on D but when Kane is healthy then what? Someone in the top 9 is bing sat and thats likely Brink. So effectively you are creating one spot while taking away another.

I don't know what else to say about it. He has had the same cap hit for 17 seasons. IE years and years.

He wasn't even the highest paid player in his own team for much of that deal(s). despite being a generational top 5-10 all time player. And for most of that deal his team was a perennial cup contender. Them not being good NOW changes NOTHING about my original statement.

I'm not sure what he is trying to prove.
