No one, no one in a position of authority or responsibility in any party has absolved the seriousness of the situation because the end result was harmless.
- PT21

If someone tried to run you over with their car, but the end result was you not getting seriously injured...is it still harmless? Are you saying intent only matters with a result?

Every single question you have, many other Americans find it strange too and would like answers. Just like the 1st time in PA.

Those questions all go back to Secret Service, which I find a lot of people don't seem to understand are not handpicked body guards for either candidate...they are assigned by the DOJ, the same department throwing out indictments. So many coincidences...what does a logical brain tell you there?

- Glak18

Huh? The DOJ assigns Secret Service personnel????

A bunch of lawyers assigns secret service personnel???

Are you drunk?

No.

The only person making this cockamamie argument is you.

Is this a hypothetical psych experiment?

Attorney General Merrick B. Garland (DOJ)

You may want to read the indictments to see who they have to pass through first.

Who assigns Secret Service detail assignments?

Alejandro Mayorkas (DHS)

Who does he report to?

Hint: Old guy, can barely walk or speak.

Christopher A. Wray (FBI)

Who does the FBI report to?

You guessed it, the Attorney Generals.

I'm not suggesting that someone powerful wanted him dead. I'm suggesting that it was a hoax to boost his sagging numbers like when his numbers went up drastically after the first attempt on his life. I mean, logically it doesn't seem to be the case now, but how does a supposed sharp shooter miss 4 to 6 times?
- Phillywhiteout

Ah, the other way around...

If I understand correctly: the golfing of Trump has been considered a security hazard for some time. However as an ex-President, he does not get the same level of security detail a sitting President does, and while a group of SS folks did go to the holes ahead of his play, they did not completely clear out the area surrounding the links.

One such agent saw the barrel of a gun poking through a fence through the foliage. He shot in the vicinity of what he had seen. He did not have time to steady gun and aim. The guy dropped gun, pack and absonded and was apprehended.

The would-be assasin was a Trump voter in 2016, Tulsi in 2019 (primary), Biden in 2020 and posted a lot about wanting Nikki Haley to serve as Vivek R's Veep in the campaign this time. He posted offers asking for Afghan soldiers to serve in Haiti and Ukraine.

Some writer (Roth? Updike) coined the term "Great American Misfit" or something like that. This guy seems to fit the bill. Social Media has worsened these tendencies, the loneliness, the lure of infamy etc. And don't even get me started about why ARs should be so easy to get.

Not the DOJ but the Director of Homeland Security. Problem is that Mayorkas is just as corrupt as AG Garland is.

I get it, it's like talking about JFK, and it sounds like connect the dots, but we are not talking about just random people that are bored on a specific day doing this.

There is too much planning, to many questions avoided for it all being a coincidence. Thinking it is all coincidence is the looney part.

If I could truly put it all together I would be a billionaire with my next tell all book coming out, but the fact is information is clearly being leaked out and why all these people doing this all have the same profile says a lot.

If someone wanted to staged these events, wouldn't you pick someone who's history didn't create more questions? I know I would. I'd pick people that I could go LOOOOOOK no questions!

Why have they all been in Blackrock commercials? Why do they all have connections to the FBI? Why do they all donate to Act Blue?

I just want explanations, but the more people ignore these obvious findings, the more clear the answer is.

Edit:

But if I was on the other side and I wanted to plan this, I would pick people who had conflicting information. There's still gullible people out there calling both of them Republicans....

You had the first part correct. Not the rest.

The SS is part of the Department of Homeland Security. The person leading that (Mayorkas) is a Cabinet Member. He reports to the President. Certainly not to Wray.

This cabinet level reorganization, to the best of my memory, occured after 9-11. I recall some confusion at that time about exact organization.

The DHS has nothing to do with the FBI. That is why the FBI is involved in the probe about the first assasination. Because that would prevent the institutional overlap and ensure independence.

Yes, correct DHS assigns SS detail, Garland has his hands involved whether you want to believe it or not. Both assailants have ties to the FBI...I go to ranges all the time, I don't have pictures with high ranking officials...why do these "random" people do?

Here is an example of the sickness in our country. In a recent pool, 17% of Democrat voters think the country would be better off if Trump was assassinated.

Are you aware of who Merrick Garland is? His past? Do you know why McConnel did not bring him up for a floor vote in the Senate even when he had a majority to replace Ginsburg? Because he has had a stellar reputation as a legal mind for so many decades that he would have undoubtedly been confirmed, because it would have been very difficult for Republican Senators to vote against him and justify it publicly.

He was confirmed to District Court by more than 75% of Senators, and was confirmed 70-30 by Senate for AG. The guy has been a professorial, intellectual, centrist law scholar for as long as I remember.

Suddenly, you have him plotting Presidential assasinations.

The reason for that, based on your many comments, is that you are simply unaware of what he has done, what he plans to do, who the guy is as a person, who the guy was in his private life and so on.

Like many here, you have dismissed large chunks of reality and record as "left wing propaganda" etc.

Under such circumstances, your bemusement is rationalizable.

Ah, the identity politics of far left liberal lunatics such as yourself. We know what Trump has done as President and we know what he plans to do. Which is why we are going to vote for him. You have to be a clueless fool not to vote for him.

Here is an unmistakable truth. What ever the far left Democrat party and people such as yourself are accusing the right and Trump of. Is exactly what they are themselves doing

That's the thing, I don't know the story, but I know where it leads to. Is Garland rubbing his hands around a round table with a bunch of masked leaders...no, but clearly things are also not 9-5 normal going on.

My concern is why people selectively discard information that comes out, but always latch onto specific things.

This came from the son of Routh:
“I don’t know what’s happened in Florida, and I hope things have just been blown out of proportion, because from the little I’ve heard it doesn’t sound like the man I know to do anything crazy, much less violent,” Oran wrote.

Does the son really not know anything about his father and his HUGE rapsheet? Plus to specifically not consider him violent? His life is violence.

These conversations always go the same way with every event...look at school shootings. The media and certain people always skip the most important things like who the person is, why would they do this, how did they do this and go right to if there was a gun ban this wouldn't happen. I went to high school in the 90's, I had metal detectors and security guards...why is that weird for schools now? Crazy people specific go to schools because there is no security, that's why it happens there. Yet, people skimmed right through that.

One of the extreme failures of our country. Our failure to protect our most precious resource. Our children. Office buildings with adults have better security.

Generally speaking, it is hard to sift through details for lay individuals at the micro level you are talking about here. For one, you will likely see what you are pre-disposed to see. For another, people who do this sort of thing ususally do it because they feel unempowered in real life by the establishment, and have a personal agenda: look, I can beat the establishment and see things they are lying about. So, they are drawn to sources that cynically cater to their specific grudges.

How does it matter what his son said and whether he was a Blackrock commercial? Given the extreme sloppiness of the attempts involved, don't you think someone could have done better in whatever they were attempting to do?

The daughter in law of RFK Jr. is Amaryllis Fox. She wrote a book about serving in the CIA. Fluffy read but lots of info about incredibly devious ways to kill people. Surely some of those could be employed instead of using some lonely, wasted souls with their pathetic AR attempts?

How does anyone explain that an individual can build a sniper nest with an opening for a shooting lane on a fence line on the golf course that the former President and current Republican nominee is going to play on. Sits there for 12 hours and is not spotted until the SS agent sees the gun barrel and shoots at him? There are only two possible answers that I can think of and neither of them are good.
