Saw on instagram Aciari just had a baby. May explain why he’s kind of with the extras. Maybe he’s somewhat away from the team right now.

Idk why we resigned Bemstrom. He does nothing for me and Sullivan seems to overly like him. If I were GM this would be where I’d step in and take away a coach’s favorite to force him to play someone else.

Marshall was pounding the table for Ponomarev as 4C last year. Really hope his waiver status doesn’t work against him but we’re oversaturated with 4Cs right now. Something’s gotta give there. I imagine we trade away someone eventually but for right now you’re right, I think he’s blocked.

I saw that later on Accairi too. That's probably it. Oh well, I expect second group to make it anyways.

Pre McGroarty and Glass, I think there was a winnable spot in the lineup for whichever of Puustinen, Ponomarev, Poulin, or Bennstrom performed best with two others stashed as healthy scratches waiting for their turn. Now they might just be fighting to be the 14th forward because I have doubts of Sully playing one when he has so many vets

Random observations
Accairi is back on team 3 centering the second line with Lizotte moving to RW and Avery Hayes moving down to a third line

Big scrimmage performers were Kevin Hayes with a HT and Jarry with a shutout in his half. Malkin and Lizotte also scored.

Howe played, he'd been out with a facial injury.

Pieninemi moved to fourth group. I wonder if that means he has a minor injury.

Bellivieux played RD. Same as Pieninemi that will increase his odds of ever getting NHL time if he can play either side.
