Yeah, I just listened to it. Maybe I'm losing something in translation but Elliott's actual comment on it didn't seem nearly as concerning.

He was the director of goaltending and wanted a promotion to where?
- manvanfan

Director of goaltending is just a title, it’s semantics, he was the day-to-day “on ice” senior goaltending instructor and he didn’t want to do that anymore. That’s what I read into it. He wanted an office position overseeing everything goaltending in the organization. Which blends into other roles within the organization, the Canucks don’t see a fit there, so be careful what you ask for in life.

So if he leaves, do they hire a goalie development coach?

That's not entirely true. I think its the way some organizations are heading with their Goaltending departments. The Kings did something like this with Bill Ranford years ago after his success as an on ice Coach. He's still there.

Also, it's Friedman. Fuck that guy.

Most likely, probably move the guy in Abby up, didn’t the baby Canucks just hire Justin Pogge?

For him, he wanted to oversee everything goaltending within the organization, which he was doing, and get away from the on ice stuff. Canucks didn’t want that, that’s how I read it.

Your bosses can call you whatever you want, but you still have to fill the role they want for you, if not, they’ll push you aside. Which is what we’re seeing here.

That was awesome. Some great memories there. We should have totally beaten Edmonton. This year, we just our star goalie healthy and we can win the Cup.
- micah555

Many...many Oiler players from last season said in interviews they absolutely hated playing the Canucks hence the reg. season results from last year. Playoffs a different beast however and even if Boeser would have not been injured from the clot shot and a full healthy Demko if would have been a very tall order to get past them. Some of Oiler players interviewed said Tocchet's systems and forecheck was killer vs EDM. Having said that it appears Dallas Van and EDM have all improved their rosters this off-season especially Dallas. They look truly nasty this season especially with that D they have at present. Plus Van's window for a cup appearance has fully opened IMO. A few tweaks and we are there...

Sure. Or it could be a rare case of the media getting carried away with a rumour. Either way, there's obviously a restructuring of the department going on. It's nice to see the Goalies getting more support.

Actually, the shift in the way this entire team is Coached is great and has made a huge impact. I couldn't believe the number of Coaches on the ice when I saw them in camp last year.

If you truly feel that way, it's a good thing you weren't here before 2011. This place was a jungle. Entering onto this site as a new poster back then was bruising to say the least.

With Pettersson getting some help on the wings, not elite like him, but at least good, I’m calling another 100+ point year for him and another Division title for the Canucks with 111 points. Go Canucks Go
