If you truly feel that way, it's a good thing you weren't here before 2011. This place was a jungle. Entering onto this site as a new poster back then was bruising to say the least.

All good if in good fun & get hazed as a noobie but some here are simply pathetic making it a personal mission for no good reason. We don’t have to have a luv in kumbaya gang & agree on all things.

With Pettersson getting some help on the wings, not elite like him, but at least good, I’m calling another 100+ point year for him and another Division title for the Canucks with 111 points. Go Canucks Go

Sounds about right to me. Oilers will have something to say about that.

Jett Woo drafted 37th overall in the 2018. Has played four seasons on the farm but has yet to play a single NHL game? Was just put on pre-season waivers for the second year in a row. This season, he's the first training camp cut in the entire league who is not waiver-exempt. He cleared waivers.

According to some, he’s a big part of Benning’s core.

You know how you build a core, you either lose a lot on purpose, or you lose a lot because you’re incompetent. Jim Benning was very good at that second one.

Funny.

He's not even a difference-maker in the 'A'. In four seasons, he's been to the playoffs twice. Six games in total. Zero points. That's frustrating considering he's a high second round pick.

What is a “difference-maker” to you? He just turned 24, isn’t that the same age Bieksa made his 39 game debut with the Canucks. I don’t know if he’ll ever amount to anything at the NHL level but he doesn’t have to be a points machine to be an effective player. Just don’t be a liability and eat 10-14 minutes a game so your better players aren’t on the ice all the time. Noah Juulsen is a good example of that.

I missed the game. Sounds like he impressed. He's gonna light it up this year in Junior. Wouldn't be surprised if Seattle trades him to a contender at some point.

A difference-maker to me is someone who impacts a game in a positive way, whether it's defensively or offensively. Unfortunately, Jett does neither, or at least to a point where people notice. Another situation that indicates that a player is a difference-maker is when opponents have to make adjustments for when that player is on the ice. Nobody's making adjustments when Jett's on the ice.

Jett's first two professional seasons were a disaster. He was healthy scratched numerous times. When he did get in, he sometimes was a fourth-line forward. Not good as a developing d-man.

The scouting report from this camp was uninspiring. It was said he showed some confidence jumping up in the offensive zone, but had some defensive troubles.
Again, not a great look for a 4-year pro regardless of age.

Ask yourself this, where is he on the depth chart? In the event of injury, in what circumstance does he make it to the big club? For right-shot defencemen we have Hronek, Myers, Desharnais, Juulsen, and then Friedman. Then there's Felton and McWard who are both still on camp roster as true prospects.

I just don't see a need to waste a contract spot on Jett. He's an AHL player.

I’m not defending the pick, but you can never have enough serviceable defensemen in your organization, especially the Canucks. As I said, he just turned 24, he’s perfectly fine where he is.

Prospect is a loose term, he’s still a young dman who can potentially contribute at some point. #Benning

Loose term?

pros·pect - the possibility or likelihood of some future event occurring.

You literally just posted the definition of the word prospect.
