Novikov is really coming along, this kid is looking like possible Steal compared to what was talked about here a last week.

no clue why rathbone was getting all the pp time

he got over 9 minutes of pp time, while the other 5 combine got 3 minutes of pp time and over 2 of them went to metsa

Helenius, I think, just is getting used to the speed. When he has a bit of time, he makes the right plays, but has coughed up a lot when he's pressured. Things should slow down for him in time. He'll be another project to some extent, but is that fair assessment?

rosen should be ready though and should be standing out as one of the best misfit toy that was left behind instead of dunne or tullio

big murr still leads the way though on and off the ice

He Keeps progressing, could be a better version of Samuelsson

Agreed on Rosen...he's really let me down so far this year. Looks uninterested most times. Isn't engaging physically at all.

Our cap situation would look a ton better moving forward if we can move Sammy and Clifton for Novikov and RyJo.

Was Komarov that good yesterday? Nice pass into Rosen's wheelhouse on the tying goal, but that stat indicates he was the best on ice by far.

Helenius had a hell of a game. Finally saw a glimmer of the talent.

What a goal by Ostlund. Reminiscent of Pommer on Emery.

What you think of the kids?

- QuinnFan

I see predominantly mostly 3rd line NHL forward potential with a few players that have 2nd line NHL potential. Defense potential looks like several future very good NHL 3rd pairing Dmen with possibility for one of them being a 2nd pairing NHL Dman. The goalie prospects don't look bad but who knows when it comes to goalies.

What I didn't see was anyone that I would consider a sniper or goal scorer (guess Kulich might be that) or any very good physical/gritty NHL 4th liners (so it looks like we will still be signing 4th line UFAs or trading for them in the future).

If the current Sabres core progresses and improves over the next several years, then we will be fine with these kids, if our current core does not progress then we have a major problem.

I dk why I can't seem to remember Strbak is a thing. Think Bodin has an outside chance too, but probably years before we know better. Good call 36.

All fair and good points. A lot of middle 6ers, bottom pair guys, not high end talents. Goalies are voodoo, but I do like Ratzlaff a lot. Leenders could be someone too.

At least it's SUPPOSED to be cheaper to acquire bottom6 talent. In the future, that'd be easy to add, it's the high end scoring where I'm worried. I think that's why Ion, justifiably, wants to spend a boat load to bring one in. In a perfect world Tuch is probably not on your top line, as an example, but it doesn't look like anyone is going to unseat him any time soon.

tuch has played 199 games for the sabres and has 176 points on a team that stinks

not sure what more he can do on the ice to win people over that he is a first liner

now when his next contract starts, he will probably be paid for a first line winger and regress to second line numbers

Tuch is a very nice player as he probably can play wherever you need him (i.e., 1st, 2nd or 3rd line), but he's more of a side piece and without a good centerman his impact drops. Big question is do we have a true number one center that gives us a top line or are we rolling with essentially two 2nd second lines. I'm not sure how successful a team can be without having an elite centerman, probably good enough to get into the playoffs but likely won't reach the Stanley Cup finals (unless Hasek on the team).

Is the skating of Komarov and Novikov as bad as I have read on Twitter?
