He was their first round pick in the most recent draft which qualifies as a "vet" under the minimum.

I'm not sure with the short camp cause of Europe.

Edit. He was not a first round pick. He was taken 2 spots after the Beck 2nd rounder. (Proabbly thought he was a first cause I had seen his name enough looking through that second round)

Same here, 36 turned me onto him. Kid has very few flaws.

We may regret not staying pat and taking Sam Richardinson too. He has a legit chance to make SJ it looks like. Few bad giveaways in his first appearance, but his skating is fantastic.

So Richarderson is a Lefty which the Sabres are already stacked with on the NHL roster and in the pipeline.
They have a need for a RhD, especially a stud for Power’s partner. That was part of why I was high on him. His challenge won’t be the iffensive side, rather becoming a competent defender will take some time.

I hear ya. With Dahlin/RyJo being able to play both sides and Byram needing a deal, I wouldn't have minded a defender with either handedness.

That being said, Yak being a righty did make more sense. Too bad he couldn't have slipped somehow.
