The talk about draft picks, who is playing on what line, or the lack of toughness is interesting but doesn't mean a whole lot in the great scheme of things.

This season is 100% about the power play. The coaching staff need a major improvement… not some tweaks here and there - and if it doesn't jump from almost the bottom (only CBJ & the FLYS were worse) to someplace in the top 12 the team is doomed this season.

There is nothing at all more important than major improvement in PP scoring AND that also includes preventing the killer SHGs.

The stats like him because he was on the ice with Kevin Hayes against mostly CHL’rs. Let’s not get the wires crossed.

He only played with Hayes one game but I agree with your overall point and that’s what I said to Boyd when he brought up the underlying numbers. Having high underlying numbers against AHLers is good I guess but not overly impressive when the traits you were advertised aren’t showing and you’re not scoring at will. I do not think he’s NHL ready right now. We’ll see what happens during the season
