from elsewhere:

Friedman:

-heard Kolosov may think there is a clearer path to the NHL than was shown to him last season

-he has a signed contract here and while there’s no official agreement with the KHL, there is an understanding to honor each others contracts

-expected to play preseason games

-believes there will be an option open to him to return home if he’s not in the NHL by a certain time this season (which I take to mean he’s in the league, not going back and forth)

- hello it's me 2050

Very interesting development especially in view of us signing eetu. I think there’s every chance that he gets a significant amount of nhl games this year. Whether due to injury or say feds struggles. He’s smart to reconsider here. I wonder if he’s as good as he thinks he is?

I wouldn’t do it, but I wonder if they give him a 9 game look before sending back?
- Hextall271

Why would they give him a 9 game look? How does that benefit the player

Because it's the Flyers. They want to show everyone how smart they are when they passed on Buium.

He clearly stated he wouldn't do it if he were the Flyers.

Right but I’m asking how would that benefit the player. Just for them to like you said the look we made the right pick. People on here saying they should do it to reward the player 😂. Beyond stupid.

Again, in my opinion it really doesn’t matter where he plays in October but if we are basing things strictly off of last night, Jett was just OK. He was on the ice for a few defensive scrambles and he doesn’t create enough offensively. Hes not hurting the team but he’s not standing out.

I doubt it would. Maybe it shows him how far actually needs to go.

It is clear the Flyers idea of draft and develop differs from what we in here think it should be.

I think the fact they haven't already sent him back, and all the smoke surrounding him with the "could he make the team" media blitz tell some they are at least considering it.

Again, don't conflate us saying the Flyers could do it with us saying they should do it.

I get the premise and that's one way but players are not paid by the game in the NHL.

Ginning and Attard have gotten their chance and have not fared well enough. Andrae is making a case. Though realistically the only player he could possibly beat out is Zamula. We know that isn't happening because he is Michkov's voice and ears for the time being.

How does that work, would he even get paid at all under this circumstance?

You even have the articles coming out, full on PR press. Hopefully this kid is back in Junior by the end of the week.

JL has to go back. I wouldn’t even give him the nine games. At 18 he may be strong and in physically top notch shape but he will be playing against fully grown men who are stronger and also in top shape.
Nothing against Jett but it’s just biology.
Let him mature and grow into his body.
MM may only be a year older but that is with more experience playing against older guys.

It was one pre season game. He played in the NHL last season. He showed he has some promise. It's time to give players like Ginning and Andrae legitimate looks and chances.
- MJL

Exactly, these young players have a short amount of time to make an impression, and when that time coame Ginning blew it.
Like I said, Andrae was average, I know he will get more ice time but the kid has to show me more than just average.

I doubt the Flyers send Zamula down because he is the main connect to MM.

I actually don't think it's a bad thing if he stays through most of the camp. He is a first round pick after all, and giving him a full on taste of what REAL NHL play level is, can only help him in the long run.

I am as cynical as it gets (I admit it) with this team, and I think they are going to keep him around as long as possible for the pure optics of it.

I don’t necessarily agree with the first part especially in this situation. He’s already a physical specimen, he’s defensively capable, he needs to polish his offensive game and he’s not going to do that here. Go to Junior and light it up.

Agreed, Jett was okay last night. I don't need the 3C to be just okay. Nothing wrong with him going to juniors 1 more year and joining the team when the junior season is over.

In a preseason game. Would you rather he played 8 minutes? Of course they are going to play him a lot of minutes in a preseason game. Hmmmmm
- MBFlyerfan
I have no idea what your comment even means. The point is that they are giving him a long look and perhaps thinking of giving him some regular season games, but I guess that slipped by you.

I've only seen one game. I know better than to think that one game constitutes a player blowing it. I would not expect much more than average if he can be average at the NHL level. If he can be average at the NHL level, that means he can play in the NHL. I agree that he has to be better to make the team but I think he should get more time.

If by reward you mean “earned” I don’t think it’s stupid at all. I think his entire showing so far is the reason he’s still here. Torts likes the kids over all game not just the offensive part. But in all honesty I still think he will end up back in JR.
He played ok last night after playing a very good game against Washington. I think they will continue to throw him out there for the rest of the pre season and see if he can progress some more.
He’s also a very young 18. He only turned 18 in August. The Flyers want him to develop into an offensive stud…the real question is where should that development take place? I think for this year it’s Guelph.

He didn’t earn anything. He had a strong camp. He’s a prospect, send your prospect back to junior to develop.

Where’s he going to better develop ? Lighting up the O ? Or playing 3rd line Center for the Flyers, which I’m sure he could do. I’m not sure they’ll send him back before some regular season games…or next week…but I think another year of JR will actually be beneficial to him.

I personally don't believe that Luchanko is ready to be a 3C in the NHL this season.

There could be something the GM wants him to work on in juniors. Let him go back and join the Flyers later, I am certain he will come back better and hungrier.
