Ill chime in. Because a 17, just turned 18, year old in shape "kid" is nowhere near an in shape NHL "man". Its all about perspective as you said it yourself, "at his age and his size."

Its not just his body that needs to fill out. Its everything, his maturity, his mindset everything. Rushing him to the NHL will be counterproductive in the long run.
