Going into year two of seven, yikes.

If they bought him out next year, it'd be 10 years @ $1m / year - which might be preferable to 5 more @ $3m.

Nicky Bobby will be on IR or playing for another team before the season starts.

Robertson, Lily going to Calgary with some other parts for Coleman for our 3C spot.

I’m beginning to wonder why we keep trying to trade Robertson. He looks good when he plays, and his brother is tearing it up in Dallas. Let’s give him a fair shake before we abandon him. Leafs are a playoff team and can take time to experiment with players like this. To much upside to his scoring ability.

He’s also leading the forward group in ice time tonight. I think berube is going to give a fair shot this season.

Ya, which is why we have to lose Nicky Bobby, Lily and probably Jarnkrok in a trade for a pick.

GM'ing is easy

Except for my concern with his injury history, I like him. (frank)er can score. He just doesn't fit in the line up here.

Same with Lily.

Robertson doesn't want to be here, won't be back next year no matter what, is a defensive liability, is often injured, and his trade value is at an all time high. Might as well get something useful for him.

He wasn't injured last year. Some of his injuries were bizarre fluke injuries - like a broken leg.

I would also note that the issue wasn't that he didn't want to be here, the issue was that he didn't feel that he was being given a fair opportunity and was being benched frequently for issues that were beyond his control. I have to agree that at times there was little rhyme nor reason as to why he was benched.

But he is not good defensively and I think that's a valid point. If the Leafs don't have a place for him (and with Nylander, Marner, Domi, an evolving Knies who has already passed him on the depth chart, on the wings - as well as Tavares not being particularly good at defense either . . .there probably isn't), then they should move him as soon as an offer matches his value.

Based on what I have seen so far..

Lilly, Kamf, and Jarncrok can all be replaced with young guys. Trade them

Patches is basically invisible not sure he is worth a roster spot.

Cowan going back to Junior.

Robertson's probably is at his peak value.. Trade him as ??I don't think he will resign here anyway.

Riafai makes this team..

D we have a bunch of guys that can rotate in the 6-9 spots.(Myers,Kokkonen)

Niemela has looked solid in limited playing time.

Nylander 's brother is garbage.

Grebenkin looks like he could be a solid player

Quillan could be a bottom 6 guy

Lorentz meh sign him on the cheap

Pretty much all spot on. Too bad about Nylander, I thought there was a chance...

Yeah, Robertson has looked pretty good overall pre-season. Far as wanting to be here think it comes down to Berube and if he trusts the coach that he gets a fair shake. He could end up moved but maybe not?!

Lillybust definitely should be worried I'd say. I think him and Kampf could go easy enough to move salary.

Going to be real interesting to see just what they do with the roster.

And thats 2 for Robertson now. Wow!!!

He's scored 5 straight preseason goals. Good for him. He looks pretty good.

Keep in mind that he _just_ turned 23. He's been around for a while because he was the youngest player in his draft class - but there are a number of players who don't even really "arrive" until they're 24.

I wouldn't be trading him for anything other than fair value that can help the team.

Where are all the clowns that want to trade Robertson? He is on the team and will have a decent year. At least 20 goals. Book it.

Agree there. It definitely is going to be if he doesnt want to be here still, and has to definitely fill a need and be a solid hockey deal. I dont mind trading him but dont have to either.

I would honestly try to trade him in a package deal. His value is high and I’m not sure it’s going to continue to climb / he won’t get hurt.

It is a risk but do they need him. Is he a 3rd liner?

Also, pre-season. He is playing for a spot or a trade against a lot of guys playing to not get hurt. We'll see where he is after 20 games on the 3rd line...

I'm one of those clowns. He clearly wants out, he will not be back year, and he's playing really hot. Package him with Lilly to get rid of that cap hit and get a legit 3C.

The Nicky Hype is real!

He is scoring goals and looking goals for sure. I just don’t see him long term on Toronto.

- he has played PP minutes this pre season
- It’s just pre season (need to remember that)
- It’s just preseason against teams that even icing their full lineup isn’t that great
- He is injury prone
- He is bad defensively
- He does not PK
- He requested a trade out of Toronto

He needs to play Top6 and on PP. He is not an4th or 3rd line player. That’s not gonna happen long term. Who do you bump for him on wing (especially when Willy eventually gets back in wing). Marner, Knies, Willy, Domi. As was said on here - good value at moment, under contract, not injured presently. Trade while you can or risky play is start him regular season up value even more…either way he’s not a Leaf long term in my opinion.
