Nope. I guess it’s early and all. Season hasn’t started. But I think we’re all buckled up for what’s ahead this year when it comes to letting in goals.

This team is probably going to see their fair share or 5-4 games regardless of the result.

I didn't see any of it but the stat line for Kolo doesn't look so good.

Flyers prevailed 5-4 Bill, not 5-2. My biggest takeaway from the night is this, if Andrae does not make this team, its a complete travesty! Andrae should be the 2nd PP unit QB right now IMO.

He has some work to do, let's put it that way. Kolosov let up a goal almost right away but it was recalled because of an off sides earlier. The next goal he gave up was a stright shot from the point through traffic but no deflections, went right under his left arm; I did not like that goal. I thought he could have had a few of them. The last goal against was with 10 secs left and he had no chance. IMO from what I saw last night, Kolosov belongs in the AHL right now. He looks small in net and that is going to hurt him in this league.

Kolosov was soft. Has anyone talked about Richard maybe making the squad he's been playing well and noticeable every game

Get ready for a travesty….will Andrae be here in short order? I think so. But the #s are what they are. This is where a solid GM makes a move so a kid like him does have a role. Same with a guy like Cates. Seemed a bit snake bitten, but seemed to find his game last night.
If the Flyers still are selling this as a rebuild it can’t be guys that are younger and with higher upside and have earned a spot being the ones to get cut.

I don’t think Zamula is bad. He isn’t. I’ve been saying since last week, I feel like the reason Zamula makes the team goes beyond hockey reasons, which seems silly to me. Last year out of camp it was fear of losing him on waivers. This year seems to be, he can act as translator between Michkov and the team. This isn’t enough. I disagree with Zamula being the best option for the power play after Drysdale. I think Zamula is steady as a third pair. The issue for me, I think Andrae has had a really good looking two way game from the rookie game and out. I think Andrae should play. I’ve liked what I’ve seen from Andrae better than Zamula.

He hasn’t had a training camp. The competition is that much better than practicing in Minsk. He needs to go down, work hard and become “the guy” down there. I think DB has this one right. The kid has put a target on his back because of his own stupidity. Now he has to shut up and back up all his off ice decisions.

I would be stunned if he plays more than Johnson this season. The Flyers have 5 d-man positions virtually locked in. Injury or Zamula playing completely horrible is the only way a spot opens.

Unpopular opinion. I’d take 8 defensemen on the west coast trip. Johnson and Zamula would sit game one. For all the Ristolainen haters. He’d be second unit power play for me until he proves he can’t handle it.

I am fine with Risto getting that assignment. Hopefully he excels at it. Enhances his trade value. My hope is Johnson plays very little this season. It would be great for Andrae to win a spot. The numbers are very much against him though.

I used Johnson as an example of how little I think Andrae will play with the Flyers this year. Andrae should 100% be in the AHL if he is not getting a regular shift with the Flyers. Five D spots are locked in for the Flyers. The numbers are against Andrae seeing a lot of time with the Flyers this year.

Defenseman take time to become NHL ready. Last year, AGM Flahr said that Andrae is ready for the NHL. He looked like he was ready to me. That makes the question if Andrae doesn't make the team. Is that because of the log jam of vet defenseman or because they think he's not ready.

Anyone else notice that when the announcers talked about HM the talk about "size" and "tenacity" not once do they mention skill. The closest thing they say about learning the game is that you can not teach size

Ever since jones got caught on a hot mic talking about jv dogging it the announcers have become more homerish, spitting out the narrative that the team wants out there. I think jj has always been a homer but it has gotten progressively worse
