I read this from a Wings poster who was saying they are still rebuilding...it makes me feel less sad/mad/bad about the Leafs failures thus far in the AM, MM, WN, JT era.

How long did it take Washington to win a cup after drafting OV first overall and Backstrom 4th overall? It took 12 years!! Edmonton had, what, five first overall picks since 2010 and they just made a cup final. It's 2024. Florida drafted Barkov and Ekblad twelve years before they won the cup this year.

Maybe 12 years is the secret sauce? It's only the start of year 9 now!

I was surprised how bad they were. Was definitely not thinking the AHL squad and Robertson were going to be the Wings killer.

I remember them being better than that last year.

For a dude in his situation, you'd think he would be working his ass off on the ice. He just seemed to be floating last night and was a turnover machine in the dzone a bunch of times.

Myers was good last night, think he's NOT waiver exempt so he would have to stay up and Rifai sent down (I think he's still exempt)

It is still preseason, he is day to day. Like a number of other leafs at the moment. He will be playing in game 1 of the season. Book it.

What is really cool tho?!?! This is the first time ever that this team is so balanced and the ONLY small piece that would be more of a luxury than a neccessity is a 3C/LW type player.

New hard-nosed coach. G looks really good. D on paper looks like it will be top notch. Forwards are ridiculously good, even thinking about some of the prospects we just watched.

Definitely a better team than what showed last night - but I still see a tough road to playoffs. Not there yet…last year went in a bit of a heater and got some quality starts that helped.
