How do you know what defenseman I wanted or who they wouldve called up?

Torts did say he would rather go with 5 D on this Trip. So in your mind its poor planning but the team is okay with it.

Risto on the top defensive pair, right where he belongs

Gonna be a tough start. Edmonton and Vancouver are top teams and, at least as of now, I have zero confidence in Fedotov.

Best case, I think they come home 2-2, but I think 1-2-1 or 0-3-1 or 1-3-0 are much more likely. 0-4-0 wouldn’t surprise me either.

What I don't get is the Flyers want more offense from their defenseman right? Then why not have Andrae make the team and QB the 2nd PP unit? No offense to Zamula who I like, but he is far from a PP QB. I believe the Flyers have at least 2 defenseman that could make this roster right now in Andrae and Granz, and Ginning has a shot to be ready later in the season. But instead they extend Seeler and sign EJ, who under Torts will play a lot more games than he should and thus blocking good young defenseman that are ready to contribute to the NHL team. This makes no sense.

Granz has not taken any steps forward the last 2 years. He has done nothing to show he belongs on any NHL roster.

Also EJ isn’t blocking anyone.

In terms of advanced stats from last year, I believe Drysdale had his worst playing with York. It was a small sample size but I'd probably pair him with Sanheim and use York/Risto as the second pair. However I think it's going to take a lot for Seeler to miss the opener.

I have my concerns that a top pair Drysdale and Sanheim pair won’t be much different from a Provorov and DeAngelo pair. The reason why I give any support to a Sanheim and Drysdale pair is, I think Sanheim and maybe Seeler can keep Drysdale’s head above water at even strength.

Zamula was the Flyers most effective PP defenseman last season. Grans is not ready for the NHL

Incase 1 of the starting 6 can't play. The 7th steps up. You don't carry 8 unless you absolutely need to.

They have 6 healthy D. If another gets hurt , hust fly the 8th out.

Maybe tomorrow if they feel seeler can't go for more than 1 game they've all up andrae. Game is Friday, today bus Wednesday, no rush and no big deal.
