they took the first 13 seconds of the game last night in honor of Gaudreau, the jackets only had 4 players on the ice to leave an empty spot where he would've been, pretty cool (although still really (frank)ing sad)

Missing man formation. Nice. Imagine if the other team was a Richard and pushed hard to score?

yeah, I'm pretty sure the panthers were aware of what was going on lol.
I find it's nice that they took actual ice time from the game, as to show that it's only a game after all, and that there are way more important things outside of it to cherish.

Noticed after they just took 13 sec off the clock so it would officially be 4 players on ice fir 13 sec, instead of playing those seconds. Helps to watch the video first, lol.
Demidov's coach, Rotenberg, about his ice time management:
You are talking about playing time, about ice time — you must have been educated in America. But you have to look objectively at all the qualities of a hockey player. Even if he played one shift and scored the winning goal. I watched the World Junior Championship, one player from the US team sat the entire match, and then came out for one shift and scored the winning goal. It means the head coach prepared him well for one shift. There are such examples in football too. Remember a player like Schulscher (talking about Solskjaer — ed.) from Norway? He was called the Golden Substitute. Do you know what that is?

and that's why you don't put the kid of a rich guy as head coach because they are friends with the political leaders.
Lucky for everyone Matthew Tkachuk wasn't playing. - Scabeh
“Unfortunately, I won’t be there tonight in Columbus,” the message read. “Johnny was a huge part of the hockey community but to me he was much more than that. A great friend, a great teammate, and family man. Not a day goes by without me thinking about Johnny and Matthew.
The biggest thing I’m going to miss about tonight is not being able to see Meredith, Noa, little Johnny, Guy and Jane. Would love to give them all big hugs! Johnny will be my teammate forever! – Matthew Tkachuk”
