speaking of manure, the habs' recent poopty play has apparently influenced Hughes to start shopping around for some help... hopefully they'll be much better tomorrow, but no matter what the outcome I'm not worried he would trade away any good prospects for some immediate reinforcements, there's no need to be making any panic moves.

lol, comme je disais c'est sûr que c'est une prédiction "audacieuse", pi ça c'était avec une équipe en santé.
mais bon, le monde va paniquer, parce que c'est juste ça qu'on fait à Mourrial. |

Yeah I read for a D.
Yeah it's a young D core and there was some bad miscommunications, but I think they real problem is the total lack of puck control in the offensive and neutral zone by the forwards that is putting to much pressure on the D because they always have to defend, they never get a break.
If it were me I'd still be looking for help upfront. I'd even trade a Ghule or a Reinbacher |

While I liked Halak, eventually I can let things go.
If anything the thing that hurt us the most was letting Markov walk away with no plan |

yeah that really hurt the team. we all knew how important he was to the whole defensive structure, and it turns out that Hal Gill and Karl Alzner weren't the solution to replace him. |

that's why I wrote last night he was 2 months too late if he wants help. much easier to trade in the summer than in October.
my point is, you cannot enter the season with the 2nd youngest team in the league, and then tell me without laughing that you expect to be in the mix. we don't have a McDavid here, sorry.
if you really wanted to be in the mix, you had to get a vet or 2 in July. and no Laine is not enough.
also, you know you're going with a new defensive system. and yet you do not play your regular roster in training camp! you play kids, prospects we'll never see again... no wonder they are not ready and look awful.
but I agree, no need to panic. but the management look a bit like peewees at the moment tbh. |

yeah, that's your assessment lol. of course Hughes and Gorton were going to say they want to be in the mix, it's Montreal, people would've flipped if the bar wasn't set higher, even though it really doesn't need to be. and once again, it really doesn't help that key players are getting hurt, this isn't a team that can go through important injuries without struggling, just like many other organizations across the league.

The real plan was never to push for a playoffs spot, it was public statements to give hope but the plan is to stay the course and hope guys continue developing and if it ends up with another top 5 pick, so be it, they still need to add talent. Even more with injuries to Reinbacher, they will need to address the right side of the D again and address the fact they are soft as butter up front
