Snider passing away probably does symbolize the end of a whole era for flyers fans, but I'm sure if they manage to continue the rebuild in a more efficient way, hockey is surely gonna become more captivating for you eventually.

the common denominator that always seems to (frank) everything up is Saputo, but he's the owner, so if he backs off it's gonna have to be his own decision unfortunately, because I guess no one can tell him to (frank) off and let other more competent people manage the team.

It's that whole football mess where Martinez signed a "Let me prove myself contract" with an option, he did good, and now he's saying "Actually I deserve more than the contract I signed so you better give me a raise". Like if Crosby in the 3rd year of his contract had said "8.7M is not enough, give me 10 or I'll stop playing my best and representing the team". It semi-work in football because you have a bunch of options in term of different leagues but in hockey where there's basically 1 league, it doesn't work all that well.

Kind of, they are likely waiting to activate the option to see if they have a replacement or if they can negotiate something. Because if they use their option against his will, he might just... not show up. Kind of like a RFA without arbitration.
