You don't think that eventually that Konecny, Tippett, Frost, Farabee and Foerster will score some goals? That the teams offense will score more than they currently are? - MJL
I'm not sure the goaltending is going to hold up. It's Ersson and ???. I believe keeping opponents below 3 goals a game consistently is going to be very difficult. Not sure the fwds are deep enough to score 3 or more goals consistently to get above 2nd worse in the division.

So honest question... is torts secretly #teamtank or is he really this big of an idiot to put poehling as a 1C while benching foerester and Luchanko?
How much longer of a leash does he have?
Also, I'm all for being a top 5 pick in this upcoming draft but MY GOD this guy is a damn fool if he is serious with these line ups |

Its awesome that our kid who speaks little English will get to look up and see a different line mate every few shifts. It's great for communication and chemistry.

Recall, in arguably the most important game of last season. The last game of the season with a playoff berth on the line and in a must win game against Washington. Tortorella benches Frost and Brink and played Poehling 19 minutes as the 1C in the game

It is malpractice what he is doing with this team. They are obviously struggling to find their game and they desperately need some stability with the lines. He just keeps right on jerkin em around. Danny Boy or Jonesy need to make a stand, and put Mr. Ego in his place!! Thanks! |

And that’s good enough for me this year. He’ll be fun to watch. It will be interesting to see if Edmonton/colorado are desperate enough to trade their 2026 first for upgrades. They are both win now teams and it would unprotect the 2025 pick we have for both of them. - Just5
Its irrelevant. Neither team is finishing in a lottery slot. At thebest they will be low to mid 20s picks..at the best |

It's not like he wasn't pulling the same poop with the lineups last year. This is the same team and same coach that went 3 months without beating a division opponent but because of the unique parity in the standings were never far from a playoff spot.
There's nobody besides Hilf, man of the people, that can yank that leash and Hilf is the one that made Torts the face and soul of the franchise. Yanking Torts would signal that the "retool" (which is what it is) is a failure and that is something they will not do so I think Torts most likely finishes the season and names his successor, Sullivan. |

So I just finished the game after being an hour behind everyone else.
I've been banging the Zamula drum for awhile. I have no idea why he's here and how he earned power play time. He really should be receiving 3rd pair ice time behind all the D playing.
Scott Laughton should have stayed home with his new born. All I ever hear is how he's the ultimate teammate. Go be the ultimate teammate somewhere else!
Jamie Drysdale. I have no idea what the Flyers are going to do with this guy. The offense he generates is opportunities for the other team.
The positives I saw tonight. Sean Couturier looked better. He had his chances. thought Seeler looked like an improvement for the defense. I'd like see more of Cates. Michkov produces again, despite the team just being the new used condom of the league. |

They have players who can be dealt. Laughton is easy to move. Farabee and Sanheim have real value. Especially Sanheim. - furio16
Sanheim ahs a NTC
Farabee could be moved in the offseason maybe but I dont see many teams taking on a 5 mill contract with term at the deadline nor should we really want to move the 24 year old and our only natural LW. Id really be more open to moving Tippett who is a year older. plus is a natural RW. In a perfect world Konecny would be the guy to go while he still has no trade protection

Not that I disagree with you but I find this hysterical - MJL I figured you would get a kick out of it. I've never seen a coach do this to this degree. He told Emily whatever her name is that they needed to stay patient during his interview and then he is literally changing up the lines on every shift. Briere and Jonesy were both players, and they should tell him that this strategy ain't gonna work. Players can NEVER develop chemistry like this. Just simple logic. |

They get to do it all over again in Washington tomorrow with Feds in net and Jett drawing back into the lineup. Drysdale's offense is offensive. Hilarity should ensue. |

In their infinite wisdom, were there any performance evaluations built into the triumvirate? Is the GM allowed to relieve the coach of his duties? Or is it just one big incestuous pit of no accountability?
All rhetorical questions btw. |

I’m guessing one of Frost or Farabee are benched tomorrow night. Maybe even Brink too. |

It's nothing new. He's been doing it since he got here. Scratching players, benching players during games. Overplaying players. Mixing up lines like crazy. The modern day game of hockey has passed him by. He doesn't have any other solutions than the chips he has already played so he is desperate to find something that will work. Anything. I sniffed this guy out from day one while you were campaigning for him for coach of the year and praying that he would win. |

It wouldn't be a terrible idea to sit Brink tomorrow. Foerster definitely has to get back in. I'd like to see Cates stay in. Brink, Zamula, Drysdale, Tippett, Laughton, Poehling. Take your pick. |

Here is the simple reality. The Flyers in the past have had far worst coaches than Tortorella. He's not just a coach though. He is the anointed savior of this franchise. He is the driver of the bus. He has the most influence and unless Hilferty gets his head out of his ass, Tortorella may stop coaching this team but he won't be leaving it. He may have even more influence if he moves upstairs. Jones is in his back pocket and Briere is not showing any inkling of being a dissenter. I knew how full of poop Tortorella was before he even coached a game for the Flyers when he was calling out that the locker room needed to be fixed. He is the used car salesman of NHL coaches.

It's always about who's right and who is wrong. I guess you've never changed your mind about anything in your life? Oh, and for the record. Halfway through last season Torts was considered to be second in Jack Adams odds behind Tocchet, so get over yourself already. You know, you were the one that said that the Flyers were basically a shoe in to make the playoffs. Those who live in glass houses? Altogether now...thanks! Hoping for a team to win that you root for? That 's odd. |

Flyers team save % last season- .889. Currently this season-.866. Safe to assume for them to be better then last season, team needs to get to at least .900%. I just do not see that happening. The team has all the signs of being really bad, we'll see if they can turn it around. |

I was gonna keep tabs on this season and see how many games that their goalie actually has a save pct. north of .900. That ain't workin out very well so far. |

With guys like you who repeatedly attacked me with how blatantly wrong you've been and normally are. Yea, its about who has been right and who has been wrong. Nobody is right 100% of the time and it's about the balance of it. What you should do is start listening to those who know better than you. Not sure who is worse, you or JD.

I just don't see how it gets above .900 as a team. Ersson's career in 67 games played save %.892. We all hope he will develop into a workhorse #1. No sign of that yet. Ironically, the Avs might have similiar goaltending as the Flyers. Not sure, they have a long playodf run in them with their goaltending. |
